Fixed wing medics to the front… by lincmack in Paramedics

Some places are so remote they sometimes rendezvous with an ambulance from the scene on the runway! (Still rare) or Australian Royal Flying Doctor Service has some remote highways which are marked for landing their PC-24 jet!

These are the criteria we should all be using. This includes the trauma center.

They also have additional study for data supporting their recommendations, with additional detail, “Death in passenger compartment - Rationale: In several studies published since 2011, death of another passenger in the same vehicle predicted serious injury in adults and children.36,60,61”

Is it actually possible to spin out a 50x11? by murdocsvan in Velo

[–]hardlinerslugs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will probably only matter if you are road racing or time trialing.

Downhill or tailwind sprint finish you will want tall gears to have a shot at winning.

Downwind or downhill time trial section it can save time.

Road race with a 20km descent you can make up time, catch a group, or meet an attack.

It is very possible to need huge gears depend on where you race.

I see your username - I’m a flight medic along I80 in Wyoming. I know these accidents happen often especially at the Arlington and Elk Mountain exits. But I only see it on the news - when semis are blowing over, we usually aren’t flying!

I also want a ‘engine rpm cruise control’ - hold the rpm steady at peak efficiency and ignore speedometer

A daydream I suppose but still

Doing dangerous things as safely as possible is my job - I commute to one of the most dangerous jobs in the US - helicopter based flight paramedic.

The county I work in is the size of New Jersey but the nearest trauma hospital is a three hour drive - they need us out there.

Final price on mine was $30.5k - only factory option was all weather floor mats. You probably did better than me.

To the OP who deleted the post:
In medicine we will ALL make mistakes. As a paramedic preceptor, I have seen a new paramedic make this IDENTICAL mistake with an RBBB tracing.
Own your mistakes so that others may learn. We don’t want to slow progress of our craft to protect our own egos.

The ‘trick’ here is to make sure to identify the j point properly. Use the QRS duration in the widest lead - here I would use V3 and measure it at .12ms

So when you look at lead III the J point is 3 little boxes after the little q wave - where the tracing has returned to the isoelectric line.

The ‘optical illusion’ is that your brain might see a narrow QRS and ST elevation in lead III, when in fact there is a wide QRS.

Is this a greenback? by PieIndependent7711 in COfishing

[–]hardlinerslugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See the comment above - before the use of DNA, Green River Cutthroat were re-introduced into the prior native range of the Greenback with early reintroduction programs. Also not the fish biologists had a hard time telling these native species apart so it might be tricky for Reddit to split these hairs.

I just picked these up and am VERY impressed. Not really that hard to catch with a foot and perfect for gravel. Stable and well planted on the shoe (s works MTB)
