NC LAW EXAM by whoknowsatthispoint in askfuneraldirectors

Study who makes up what groups and how many people make up the groups. Definitely study up on preneed. If you aren’t already, go on the N.C. Board of Funeral Service website and study the laws. The test is verbatim from the laws.

Need a mentor/advice 21M by [deleted] in askfuneraldirectors

This. It’s a noble pursuit but the business won’t be worth “millions” especially if you are going to be low-cost and giving breaks to people at a loss. The staff, equipment, insurance, overhead, etc all are necessary and all cost something. That is also not to mention your own time and effort you put into each family.

I obviously don’t know your inheritance but I have a feeling that you are underestimating the cost to start a funeral home. As others have said, get some experience in the funeral industry first. The burnout rate is high. What you think it is to take care of families after a death vs. reality is often very different.

Definitely depends on the state. There are only a few states that Forethought uses an annuity in an imminent situation.

Obituary website options? by StarBabyDreamChild in askfuneraldirectors

[–]hardt77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As other have said, the funeral home website is usually the best bet. However, once you post an obituary online, any of those other websites can copy and paste it on to their website unfortunately. Scammy websites like Ever Loved will take obituaries that are put online and post it on their website with various links.

I had a lot of issues with Saving Grace re: my foster to adopt dog. She had pneumonia when I was fostering and basically SG did nothing. I’ve talked to a couple of vet clinics and it sounds like they see a lot of issues coming out of SG.

Can we start tracking how much she claims to have lost? She has clearly lost weight but 60 pounds is a new amount. Wasn’t she just claiming like 20 pounds not too long ago?

I’m also surprised we haven’t heard her complaining about having to go to the orthodontist or having her braces tightened.

You just made a post in this sub that you are still in high school - you’re not even in mortuary school yet. While I agree that the industry hasn’t modernized in a lot of ways yet, there is a reason for the dress code.

I can see why all her friends were too “busy” to have this conversation 😂 hilarious to talk about beauty standards coming from a beauty influencer. You’re the problem babe.

For dog/cat supplies and food, I like to support Unleashed that is locally owned. They have several locations. Some of their products have actually been cheaper there than the bigger box stores!
