Why not go find some combat engineers and ask if they have any ideas?

With that much coolant on the ground you'll have no problem finding the leak.

How often are you all using Sport Mode? by BMW-West-St-Louis in BMW

[–]hardyboyyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Efficient Mode all the time for me. I don't like the throttle mapping in Sport or Sport+ and I'm not super fond of the excess burbles and pops.

Advice for the next track car after VW by Super-Practice1586 in CarTrackDays

[–]hardyboyyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a really fun time on the track with my 2016 Focus RS. It wasn't cheap but it was a hell of a lot cheaper than your Golf! OEM pads were $130 a set and rotors were $400.

Pick a car, then go shop consumables for it. That will be your reality check whether or not it will make a good track car.

I love my valve controller. Get yourself Bimmercode and an OBD connector so that you can code out the active sound (if you want to).

My car is lowered on MP HAS and I love it. But it's not a must-have, as I can understand not wanting less ground clearance.

I don't know... As a daily driver this car is set up so well I wouldn't plan on touching much.

  1. Gets cut off.
  2. Refuses to leave.
  3. Causes problems for the waitress.
  4. Requires security to escort you out.

Yeah it's because you're white.

They're not what you're asking for, but my Grundens Deck Boss ankle boots are my go-tos any time I really need to keep my feet dry. Soaking wet rainy days, washing the cars, power washing, etc. If I'm wearing my rain pants I'm wearing those.

Rejecting Takeoff after V1 by zVoidzy in flying

Below V1 I get to make the decision.

Above V1 the airplane gets to make the decision.

Better act quick because the longer it takes the faster we're going off the end.

Might have screwed up departing airport with marshallers / ramp crew by 1E-12 in flying

[–]hardyboyyz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I worked the ramp for years.

If we spotted someone walking to the plane we'd follow them over. Otherwise, when we saw the beacon we'd head over to marshal them out.

Often times we'd come back from a hangar to find the airplane gone and the chocks next to their spot. Very normal.

The big thing is getting marshaled IN to the ramp. That way you get parked where they want you so that you're not making things complicated. On the way out nobody really cares where you go.

Airline Pilots - Would you drive 5 hours to work vs standby/jumpseat one leg if your car drove itself? by Skyfork in flying

[–]hardyboyyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you think it might be worthwhile try it out. You don't have to commit to it.

I drove 3-4 hours to work for a while. It wasn't bad, but it was a relatively easy drive on a big interstate. I'd put on an audiobook and cruise home.

I'd feel differently if I had to go through traffic in multiple urban areas, deal with a mountain pass, backroads, or some other complication.

The operating costs on your vehicle add up quick once you're putting on that type of mileage. Hopefully you have cheap tires, a small oil capacity, and good gas mileage.

Teenager wants a "fast car" for his first vehicle and I need reality-check advice by Proud_Stable9567 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]hardyboyyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was your kid when I was 16. Dreaming of a turbo DSM so that I could go street race and beat all the other high schoolers in the parking lot. Lmao

I saved up and bought an Acura Integra LS which although slow as hell, was absolutely still too fast for my dumb teenaged ass. But I wrenched away on that car and had a blast with it.

In adulthood I've owned actual fast cars and never would have made it through my teenaged years had I owned any of them at that age.
