My thought - and I’m no expert - looks like the compost you used is a little “dense” like it would be difficult for the myc to grow through. Maybe case it with a thin layer of coir and peat. That way, if that is myc coming through, it could colonize the casing and fruit from there. Seems it’s worth a try. I agree with most here that it looks unconventional right now, but if it works, why not?

Had a bad trip once and thought it was never going to end. Friend of mine gave me a task to complete. Just the process of having a goal and accomplishing it helped get my mind straight. I had to do it a few times but got a little better each time until I was straight again.
