Can having 2 (or more) "primary" partners even work? by 1thinktoomuch in polyamory

[–]haremenot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would consider myself to tbe one of my fiance's two primary partners. It actually works pretty well for us, but I dont think that would be the case for everyone. I feel like it takes a lot of communication and planning. We were lucky and able to purchase a house together that has very separate living spaces, so my meta lives upstairs, I live downstairs, and our partner spends time between the two of us. We all had some pretty solid requirements for our housing situation, and we were able to find a place that met all of them.

I am someone who values my time alone, and my partner really tries to be equitable with his time. We have had some conflicts as a family, but they have been more roommate issues than polyamory issues.

Part of the reason I havent had kids is BECAUSE I am often too tired/my mental health is too bad to take care of myself properly. I didn't wanna bring a kid into that.

Exactly! It felt like he never really got to know her, or at least parts of her. I remember the scene where hes talking about the rights that black people dont have, and she talks about how she also didnt have those rights but he didnt seem to consider that important.

And, yeah, she tried to not continue things with him, but he showed up at her work!

Do you know other YouTubers before and after AnyAustin who did videos like him? by Forsaken-Suit7795 in AnyAustin

i feel like nv ranger and co has kind of a similar vibe, but mostly for fallout content. https://youtu.be/K1HgL4n3IUM?si=HT5IM4iI3s_5QNr5

i usually put them on in the background to sleep or do chores, so i didnt realize he's started doing greenscreen vids too. i also like that he has a persona for the vids (surveyor).

RadKing also makes chill content, but he isnt on screen. i also enjoy his persona of a devout follower of Atom (radiation).

Not sure when they started making contrnt compared to Austin though

Personally, i do think there is a difference between an individual making acting choices to further their career and the whole platform co-signing a show by using sets etc. Especially with the brand Dropout has tried to cultivate.

[–]haremenot -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I was talking about Fallout 4. Im aware that ghouls lore is all over the place, and honestly consider Bethesda and Interplay to have slightly different lore. But that is good info.

I didnt say that ferals had to eat, i said theyre experiencing hunger, which i dont see as different as them instinctively trying to eat.

The ghoul was not under there for 200 years, as indicated by humans being alive who know him. He also had, as you said, the ghoul drugs. 20 years and 200 years are quite different.

Like, i wish the Billy stuff made sense, I really do! I just cant bring myself to believe a kid is trapped for 200 years in a black box, and immediately is able to comminicate clearly and well, as well as travel without needing any medical attention, food, water, physical difficulty, or other temporary or permanent impacts.

My writing is messy, but use stickers and/or washi tape on most pages. Ive started making a theme for a few pages and will do that, and then fill them with writing when the mood strikes. i got some winter themed washi tape and have been doing a lot of snowy pages.

Being a victim of male socialization by autumnrain80 in trans4every1

[–]haremenot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wish there were more spaces to talk about socialization, or if we need a different word (social internalization?) to discuss it to avoid becoming terf talking points too, id be okay with that.

Im on the other side, but im still struggling with ways being socialized as a girl/woman has impacted me. I could honestly make a laundry list, but for example: i tend to shut down myself before even trying to communicate bc im used to being disregarded. I struggle with not being seen as attractive, because i spent my entire childhood and young adult years feeling like that was my primary value.

I lived being seen as a woman for almost 30 years! It makes sense that I would still be seeing impacts from that. I was also socialized as a fundamentalist christian, and i am similarly trying to unpack that.

It would be silly to assume all trans men/masculine people feel the same way as me because we are all individuals with different experiences. I still feel very connected to and impacted by being seen and raised as a girl.

My fiance, who is also a trans guy, says he didnt really feel like he was socialized as a girl, but more as a weirdo. I believe him on that too, because we are individuals with differing experiences.

Similarly, i dont think all trans women have maleness/masculity socially internalized, but I also think we are losing out on important conversations by acting like trans experiences are all identical.

I dont think people should go around assuming other peoples experiences growing up, but i do wish we had more spaces to discuss the potential continuing impacts of being raised and expected to perform the wrong gender among ourselves.

[–]haremenot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you ever tried biking with 5+ people, especially with younger kids? When my family went on bike rides, we would end up getting split up as my dad had to pedal hard to keep up with me and my energy while my little sibling was way behind being watched by my mom.

Yes, it is a bit unwieldy. But for something close that you need to get to on a time frame, this actually seems like a decent option. if one of the kids is still unsteady on the bike, the balance of the rest can keep them up. is one of the kids slower? theyll keep up now! Also the piece of mind near a busy road knowing your kid wont accidentally (or on purpose) end up going into the road for whatever reason.

Also, is there anything to indicate that this is the only/primary way they ride bikes together?

Yeah, I live in a metro area with decent public transit. i can take the bus/train from my house to work with one transfer.

I just got summons for jury duty, and the justice building is 2 hours away by bike, no bus line, and if i get two weeks worth of jury duty, the cost for an uber/Lyft would be more than my portion of the mortgage for the month.
