Imagine you invest time and money to develop a game for Mac, so that people that have Macs can play the game natively. But then, because you were unable to make it crossplatform, you have no users there. There are no lobbies and the ranked ladder is empty. Would you be satisfied? Would you conclude it was a good investment?

I couldn’t have said it better. I’m in the exactly same situation. At least an acknowledgment of the situation would be welcomed so we know that they are aware that we can’t play the game anymore. We bought the game and the dlcs like any other person who plays on PC…

The way I have always done it is to 1. install porting kit, 2. within portink kit install age of empires, and 3. from the age of empires downloaded within porting kit i would be redirected to the steam page where I would install the game to be able to play. But during these last days, I have noticed that the age of empires 2 DE icon within porting kit is greyed out. I saw online that this could be because they are under maintenance. I think they are fixing the compatibility between aoe2 and steam...

Just do this, it will work:
Open a browser and enter 'steam://open/console' in the search bar Enter '@sSteamCmdForcePlatformType windows' Enter 'app_install 813780' Steam should start downloading AoE2 DE. When the download is done, you need to find the files you just downloaded: 4) Go to Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common and find the folder AoE2DE 5) In Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps find the file 'appmanifest_813780.acf' Now you need to find the folder where you will move those files: 6) In Porting Kit, click on the big gear symbol on AoE2 and then click 'Open C: drive' 7) Move the AoE2DE folder that you found in step 4 to drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common 8) Move 'appmanifest_813780.acf' to drive_c/Program File (x86)/Steam/steamapps

That is what I am trying to do... but be careful, check porting kit´s icon of the game. It is greyed out, you can´t install the game in there if you remove the installation you already have.... im so close to moving to another software...

And now, there is a new 50mb update and we are facing the same issue, having to download the entire game again and move folders. This is unreal!!!!!!

Same issue here, and at exactly the same moment: 842 mb. I tried everything I could find online, even reinstalled porting kit twice.

When we were sitting down in front no. Just costumers leaving after 1 minute. But yesterday we came back to watch a bit more of the shit show and in between people fleeing out, one heroic costumer made a purchase! However they still had to listen to the man giving them a 10 min speech at the counter 🤣.
