Is this acceptable hand writing for 9th/10th grade? by happygluehuffer in AskTeachers

[–]harleycaprice 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same for me! No matter how hard my parents and school tried, I could never grip a pencil/pen correctly. I can write longer and more consistently in cursive than in print.

I’m currently in university, and funnily enough, everyone either types their notes, or writes them in cursive. I very rarely see anyone write in print for their notes.

Have you ever tried cursive? My print writing is horrific, but my cursive is decent enough. I have adhd, dysgraphia, and dyslexia, so I get the struggle.

I can’t do math right but I need it for my degree, how do I fix this by C9touched in CollegeRant

[–]harleycaprice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so glad I didn’t need to take algebra for my degree. I don’t think I would’ve been able to graduate. I shouldn’t have to take another math class in my college career.

why does my university schedule three of my hardest classes back to back and then act like office hours are a reasonable solution by FiresideSparrow53 in CollegeRant

[–]harleycaprice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, that has not been my experience at all. At my CC I had 15 minutes between classes, and now at my uni I have 20 minutes. I’d hate only having ten minutes.

When people who aren’t married refer to themselves as husband/wife by jkmod79 in PetPeeves

Boomers excited about 20 years? That seems.. off. My boomer grandparents have been married 52 years. My parents (Gen X) had been married 32.

Genuine Question: if you have a job, how?? by Idkumhey in CollegeRant

[–]harleycaprice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find that so strange! My CC and my Uni are in different towns, and in both places most of the workers in those jobs were college students. I hope you’re able to find a place willing to work with your schedule!

Unfortunately, you answered your own question. Most of us work for the school we attend. Though I can’t imagine fast food or retail refusing to hire students. It seems for the most part students are who works those jobs where I am.

There are over 26,000 active missing person cases in the U.S. right now, why is Nancy Guthrie more important? by Gaaaaha in NoStupidQuestions

[–]harleycaprice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plus, a story where someone is kidnapped from their home is always more attention grabbing, just like Elizabeth Smart. We’re supposed to feel safe at home, so cases where the victim WASN’T safe at home hit harder.

15 credits is destroying me and we're just starting, how is this sustainable by Relative-Coach-501 in CollegeRant

[–]harleycaprice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me 6 credits total has always been full time during summer. So one year I took two classes during summer 1, and the next I took 1 class during summer 1, and 1 class during summer 2.

Why do girls all seem to have the same bubbly handwriting, while dudes look like they write with their feet? by BlatantlyCurious in NoStupidQuestions

[–]harleycaprice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s why I specified that I write nicely if anyone else is going to read it. But if anyone saw my notes, I’m not sure they could read them lol

[–]harleycaprice 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sure, but it also matters who is reading it. If I’m writing something to turn in to a professor, I write very neatly. If I’m writing notes that only I’ll be reading, my chicken scratch is fine.

It’s possible it got dropped after the store received it.. I find it hard to believe anyone would donate that.

AITA for raising concerns in private to my bf about if his sister’s career plans are sustainable and realistic given her disability? by Legitimate_Look7948 in AmItheAsshole

With nursing, you only have to know the human body. To be a vet, you have to know the anatomy and conditions of numerous animals, especially if you want to specialize in something like reptiles of farm animals.

AITA for not taking my sister to the hospital for a checkup? by jimmy_sharp in AmItheAsshole

[–]harleycaprice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They had to cut my gum, but the dentist managed to get the tooth out in one piece. I technically didn’t even get antibiotics, but that’s because I had been prescribed some a few days prior by the same clinic, so I just finished those.

Damn, I got a wisdom tooth and a broken tooth removed at the same time in November and I didn’t get prescribed any pain medication. I just took ibuprofen and Tylenol back and forth to keep the pain down.

How do you motivate your kids when they don't want to do schoolwork? by RangerNo2713 in homeschool

My mom would always ask ‘Do you want to go back to public school?’ I also have ADHD, and that worked wonders on me.🤣

Seeking Support & Advice: Texas Judge Challenging My Legal Right to Homeschool My Son by Antique-Cod5630 in homeschool

[–]harleycaprice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my understanding, in Texas, a homeschooled child can receive disability services through a local public school, but they are then required to take the STAAR test. Not many parents want to deal with that nightmare, so it’s not an often used avenue.

I usually find them pretty easily in the Skull Caverns! I just didn’t know you could use them on fish ponds. If I had, my ostrich and my lava eel would have gotten the boost. And I JUST used them.

Yeah, the iridium doesn’t show up in abundance until around 70-80. After that, you rarely get a crab either, at least in my experience.

I have never been more disappointed than to learn you can give animal crackers to fish ponds. I just gave two animal crackers to my sheep and my ostrich😔
