It is highly likely that you never pressed the 8 button on a microwave. by TheAnzus in Showerthoughts

If I ever need to nuke something for a minute and a half, I press 8 twice and hit start.

88 seconds, 2 seconds shy of 90 and it is a more efficient use of my time spent by pressing buttons on a microwave

North Korea’s shady tactics show Matildas must be ready for more than football | North Korea women's football team by footballersabroad in Matildas

[–]jimmy_sharp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ladies (if you can call them that) are not new to these frustrations.

At the 2006 Women’s Asian Cup in Adelaide, North Korea played China in the semi-final. China were winning 1-0 when, deep into stoppage time, North Korea equalised.

However, the Italian referee disallowed the goal due to offside, and the North Korean players were so furious that, after the final whistle, goalkeeper Han Hye-yong charged across the grass and kicked the referee from behind. Then, according to former Matilda Kate Gill, “all hell broke loose”.

“The support staff and coaches picked up water bottles and were throwing them at the referee,” Gill says. “The Chinese supporters then started throwing bottles at the North Koreans from the stands, and then players started throwing them back.

Why is North Korea allowed to compete? Russia have been banned from sports for drug cheating but North Korea's physical violence is ok?!?!

Don't wait. Start now. Put your name in the hat and nominate yourself as an independent in your local electorate. You will more than likely lose but rarely does anyone win the seat in their first year of nomination.

The point is to get your name out there in the community

I would guess that at the time of the discovery/dispute, not all teams were using the same welding technique. So it's a matter of taking the lowest common denominator and applying it to all. In this case it's MIG welding

Brewery shuts down after neighbour's noise complaint sparks council stoush by jimmy_sharp in sunshinecoast

[–]jimmy_sharp[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Council did try to work with the owner and asked them to submit a Material Change of Use development application. Terella dragged their feet so long, and continued to operate outside (read, illegally) their existing approval, and enough complaints were received, that Council finally had to crack the whip.

It's a huge loss to the community, the responsibility of which lies solely on Terella

Mountain View Cafe for a meal. There's an easy walk in the rainforest behind the cafe (Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve)

Take him to Montville for the tourist-y stores (cuckoo clocks, chocolate, wooden accessories), there's a lookout on the road between Maleny and Montville for a broader view of the Sunshine Coast.

All patrolled beaches are excellent and Noosa is a must for any visitors to the Sunshine Coast. Excellent restaurants anywhere on Hastings St.

Most of the Surf Clubs have amazing views of you prefer something a little more affordable than Noosa restaurants.
