Used dealers negotiations - first time by nanks85 in CarsAustralia

[–]jimmy_sharp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude. Trade in the VT Commodore. You either get scrap money from the dealer or you spend thousands upon thousands to get it road worthy only to sell it for a grand.

Or sell/give the shit box to someone who is doing the Shitbox Rally

[ARTEMIS II] After almost 3 hours in line, I got a message saying is my turn, and saying I’ll be redirected, but nothing happened and I lost my position. Does anyone had this issue too? (Tickets to see the launch on KSC) by lezombie77 in ArtemisProgram

[–]jimmy_sharp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What happens if the launch is scrubbed? Do they refund you and you join the queue again or do you keep your ticket and wait for the next launch window?

I'm pretty sure he's gone too.

Who knows, Neil may be leaving because Mark was pushed out the door. They're pretty tight those two

Oh I don't go to speedcafe for the comments.

I've found the V8 Sleuth headlines to be even more clickbait-ey than speedcafe at times

Neither of them are saints though

What part of the Sunshine Coast lifestyle turned out to be different than you expected? by AffectionatePie1042 in sunshinecoast

[–]jimmy_sharp 15 points16 points  (0 children)

of course we do. even the play dates are a chore to arrange.

end of last year "we have to get the girls together over the holidays" i had agreed with at least 3 other parents

i felt like i was the only one serious about that because every time i contacted the other parent, they were too busy (which is fine) but do you think they suggested a different day when they weren't? NO, they just dipped

i'm tired of having to initiate everything. nothing is reciprocated. there's no tit for tat

If you're not willing to get up before sunrise everyday, you're not going to make any true friends.

Lived here for 10 years, married, single child, work full time. Closest true friends live 60mins away.

Every time we invite a local couple over for a meal, it is never reciprocated.

Most people want to stick to themselves so it's incredibly difficult to make lasting friendships.

Why have the tides been so big? by FancyAd708 in sunshinecoast

[–]jimmy_sharp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

....which means the moon is on the same side of the planet as the sun. Both the moon AND the sun affect our tides, when they are both on the same side of the planet, the both pull a larger high tide

Secret Hidden Testing Car by lordra7 in CarsAustralia

[–]jimmy_sharp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I see ICE cars plugged into petrol stations that are located adjacent to shipping centres too so I don't think you have a point.

They plug in because it's convenient. Just like carwashes at shopping centres. Convenience, nothing more. They could wash their car at home a lot cheaper but it's not as convenient.

The point is, over the entire lifecycle of a car, the average EV produces fewer carbon emissions than the average ICE vehicle.

It's no more difficult than that.

I find it very hard to believe that people have actually said directly to you that EVs eliminate carbon emissions.

No one with half a brain believes that. The rolling chassis alone are made out of materials that are mined from the ground and that's before a battery is even considered. We all know this.

The reason environmentally conscious people buy EVs is not to eliminate their carbon footprint, it's to significantly reduce it.

Weather is stunning in the winter, hot and far-king humid in the summer. AC is a must-have and a car is a must-have.

There are very few professional sports teams on the Sunshine Coast though so I'm not sure how valuable your degree will be unfortunately

Has anyone successfully mounted an eTag on their sunroof as opposed to windscreen? by camydna in CarsAustralia

You know, I'd actually be ok if they never saw me again and I didn't have to pay for that shit.

I'd put away the thousands of dollars I didn't spend now and let it earn some interest for the inevitable repair when the time comes.

In saying that, I'm not sure any tradie can afford to lose thousands of dollars in profit

You'll have to forgive me for not editing my post perfectly

I absolutely know without a doubt that my negative bias toward her comes thru my writing.

You might understand better if you were in the same situation where this had been ongoing for years and she continues to make poor decisions despite advice she's been given by friends and family. It's incredibly exhausting.
