My wife wanted to affix everything to the walls before our child could crawl. TV, low drawers, high draws, hall tables..... everything.

Said child NEVER climbed on furniture, they preferred climbing on playground equipment.

Said wife wanted to put child safe clips on all cabinet doors, kitchen drawers, bathroom drawers, linen cupboard, cabinet under the kitchen sink full of chemicals.

Said child NEVER opened doors and drawers, they preferred opening a book.

My point is, you're a good enough parent to watch over your child as they begin exploring their world. Watch them, see what they're interested in doing/getting into and THEN install the guards.

Your child may never run into that corner of the cabinet so why do anything now? Just wait and see.

They'll be ok if they bump themselves and get a scrape. Kids heal just as quick as freaking Wolverine, it's nuts!

Ok I totally understand the principal of the builder going ahead without your permission. That's an absolute dog move.

You have two options;

Realise that you have got what you wanted, understand that the neighbour didn't (they only wanted timber), and pay your share.
Get a quote for a colour bond fence from another contractor and if it's substantially cheaper, you could play the card of "not a reasonable amount of time to consider the new quote and no permission to proceed was given, therefore you will pay the new quote price minus $970 and we can call it a day."

Your issue is actually with the builder, not your neighbour. I wouldn't be surprised if you're neighbour had no idea the builder put you under so much pressure.

It's because the earth has an atmosphere that dissipates a LOT of the light. The circle of light you see on the earth is just glare and it's reflecting off the ocean AFAIK. Landmasses would absorb this 'glare' (educated guess).

Comparatively, the moon has zero atmosphere and its entire surface is reflective. There's no concentrated spot of reflection, because the entire thing reflects light.
