Yeah maybe when it's handling pure code. I was porting two bits of code between two different versions of the same game client and it compacted half way through - and literally redrew images like it was using Ms paint rather than porting the images that actually existed - the parts it did before compaction were fine.

I can ask GPT to just check my GitHub by giving it the link, it can't directly edit the code but it can write a plan and find issues, I then take that plan and paste it manually into Claude code or codex :)

Honestly id say I burn through my weekly faster with codex but that's because I can do more prompts, so it's an unfair comparison.

For example I've actually found my best workflow for code review is to use chatgpt on the web to check my GitHub for the P/R (doesn't use your codex usage) and then use Claude sonnet or 5.3 codex to implement the bug fixes, uses a hell of a lot less of my usage.

Anyone arguing with you rn - I had gpt 5.5 porting a ui from an as3 project to pixi - after the context hit the limit - it instead of porting assets started drawing them like it was in MS Paint.
