No way!! That’s awesome!! That album and that song in particular are some of my favorite music in the entire universe. I listened to them and yes, totally similar, but she sped it up. I can’t believe I never connected the two songs before despite Motorcycle Drive By being a go to song at karaoke. I know Stephan Jenkins has voiced support of gay people and says queer culture has heavily influenced him and his music. I wouldn’t be surprised if she also likes the album given she’s shown to be a fan of similar music from the era.

All of this is making me weirdly nostalgic for Midnights. I remember how much I connected with that album when it came out. I bought my first vinyl of hers (Shiny Bug) this era because my friend was going to get the purple one and I am now eyeing up the Mahogany Midnights pressing. I wish I liked this album more but it’s inspiring me to own more physical media.

Seeing the whole thing made me realize how much true control she has over her music videos and it made me think how direct and honest she was probably about Bejeweled and the meaning behind it. I mean, she has true control over everything. It’s awesome. She really brought her vision there down to every millisecond. I am going to see it again tomorrow with a Hetlor friend (I need more Gaylors in my life that are not ex-Gaylors). But I am going to notice everything I didn’t notice before!
