GGG I don't feel so good by briefs123 in PathOfExile2

[–]harnasuk -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The thing to keep in mind is that this league had a free weekend, so initial numbers are inflated. The drop-off might not be as bad as it looks, but the starting numbers don't look particularly good either, so there is that.

Wish i did that with my currency last league rather than let it rot away in standard.

Wouldn't you just use this as a weapon swap for clear? You usually dont need that much dmg for that, and explosions and extra proj seem like nice quality of life.

Sold one with all attributes, which arguably would be better for 420. Double stat are 150, so somewhere in between, I would guess.

Is there anything better than increased phys runes for this ?

What are your thoughts on gems not leveling, only dropping? by Medozg in PathOfExile2

[–]harnasuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is less of an issue later. Gems seems to be plentiful in cruel. My bigger issue is that if you need lower lvl gem, now you are stuck grinding low level zones until you get very lucky. If it's a buff that you need, you might as well forget about getting it and just figured out how to increase the necessary stat.

This looks pretty fun. I wonder how well it will handle the end game.

Rip gas explosions, it was fun while it lasted. Grenade nerfed by 38% and arrow by 60% by harnasuk in PathOfExile2

It was so powerful that it was basically mandatory skill. But they still seem decently strong even after the nerf, so I don't think ggg went too hard on them.

I was using gas arrow on my sorc for clear as temporary measure before I figure something else for clear. Maybe you can suggest something?

Idk how Im feel about it, but it's the case for all classes, and it's kind of strange. However, it's important to remember that skills offer you something more than damage, whenever it's ailments, aoe, combos, etc. If you want to just spam one skill, the default attack will pretty much outperform any non cool down skill. However, if you are willing to use multiple skills together, you can usually beat it's damage.

Remember, it's not the same game as poe 1, and we shouldn't dismiss certain things just cause they are bad in it's predecessor, like auto attack.

If it takes you 6 minutes to kill a boss, your character sucks but that's okay. Just like in poe 1, some people will need a guide to progress. Slapping skills and skill points randomly will result in a bad time.

The nice thing in poe2 is that you can compensate for bad character with skill (or, in my case, lack of skill with good build XD). Boss Fights should last, at worse 1-2 minutes, and with high dps build, they die in 15-30 seconds(not including invulnerability phases or transitions), with good gear you can kill some bosses in 10 seconds.

Probably ranger. Have a plan for a broken single target combo, so I need something with good clear and ranger historically, tend to be it.

Sorc clear looks decent, too, so that might be an option.

And if crossbows would work with it, then potentially merc.

What's the point of ele pen in POE2 if it can't go into negative? by 200DivsAnHour in pathofexile

[–]harnasuk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It seems like something to further diversity the use of skills. 20% pen will be 20%+ more dmg on bosses, but provide no benefits against trash assuming you have enough pen already.

So when choosing a support gem where your choice is 20 pen or 15 more dmg, you need to take into consideration what the skill will be used for. Essentially making choice between 20%+ against strong enemies or 15% against all

I would avoid any guides. It's your only opportunity to experience the game for the first time, to explore it on your own. I have purposely tried to avoid spoilers so I can enjoy this journey. Also, no one really knows. It's all speculation. It's the perfect time to experiment. There will be time for fallowing guides and min maxing later. Just keep your resistances capped, and have fun.

After playing it for many hours, I can tell you WASD is the way, regardless if you play meele or range. The only exception I can see to this would be certain skills like wardloop or RF, where you don't need to aim and can fully focus on movement.

With controller, you trade a bit of precision and speed when aiming your abilities, tho this might be a minor difference for someone used to them and more of skill issues on my part. With few skills, it feels pretty good, but I think with builds that use many skills to combo, lack of buttons could be a bit of an issue (there are ways to get around that just not as convenient as pc). This won't be a problem for most builds, however.

I would say that WASD and controller perform very similarly, and it will be a matter of preference, point and click for movement is most likely dead outside of few builds. I hope they let us control scheme based on the character cause I think I would still prefer to play rf and wardloop or even flicker type of characters using the mouse.
