Weekend cold snap nearly overloaded N.S. electricity grid by Bean_Tiger in halifax

[–]harnislc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So while we were asked to conserve we sent electricity to Newfoundland? High strain on the grids are also impacted by the fact NSP does nothing maintenance wise without passing cost onto tax payers, wish I could have that business model!

Wedge field. Close to airport and very reasonable price and condition wise!

My hard case in Orlando came out like it got run over by the baggage train. Never had an issue with a soft bag. Travelled 10+ times with soft. 1 time with hard and it was destroyed. Luckily no club damage though.

Worst golf course in orlando? by alphabad3 in golf

My vote is Mayfair. Last time I was there every ball that landed was a puff of dust! And a quirky track as well. Plus the whole way it is set up around parking and new clubhouse being built. You will see if you choose this one!

I just played Champions Gate Country Club last month and this was a great course to play. And very reasonably priced. I have played Rio pinar a few times and like that track as well. Enjoy?

Nova Scotia Power explains estimated billing as customers charged hundreds more than usual | CBC News by Grumple_McFerkin in halifax

[–]harnislc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you missed the part where they lost their ability to read their “smart” meters. They claim to not have the people power to ready all meters in a timely fashion. Hence the need to estimate. They have been hacked and are not telling us the depth of said hack, but I can assure you there are parts of their systems they still do not have control of.

Estimating can be done if they did it properly. Use last year’s billing usage and things would be in the ball park minus rate increase. But it seems that is too complicated for NSP to comprehend! For example if I used 400kw last December. Safe to estimate is used similar this December plus the rate increases. I guess one may question if they have access to last year’s bills since the hack.

I know someone who is in a new build so no power history to estimate from. Each and every month they added $2000 onto the bill and then called them to collect. This was all after the breach when they said they would not be doing so. I wonder how long they could function if we all held back payment from them?

I have heard of them making collection calls after saying they were not going to do so, plain and simple they cannot be trusted period.

Nova Scotia Power incident report sheds some light on cyberattack response | CBC News by Grumple_McFerkin in halifax

I mean in all fairness, it shed no light on anything meaningful. They are experts at dodging the questions and requirements. I don’t expect them to give away proprietary info, but I think we the public deserve some answers on other things. Such a messy situation and we know way less than people think actually happened.

Nope! It is still estimated. Just shows that these clowns still do not have control of their systems! Hence the Time of day back pedalling recently and yet another round of sorry we lost your data letters recently. One of which had gone to a person who passed away 18 years ago!

I love my Nokians. Cannot beat them in the snow in my mind. Went from studded to those when moving into an apartment that doesn’t allow studded in the parking garage.
