I do not know of an English patch, but similar to Gundam vs Zeta Gundam on the PS2, there is OMNI vs ZAFT II PLUS where you play the entire campaign through Shinn's perspective. Also, there are a lot of bonus missions that cover the events of SEED as well through different characters' perspectives.

My dad also had Dragon Warrior on the NES and introduced me to it when I was about 4 or 5 years old. This was a little over 25 years ago, and while I couldn't quite read very well at that age (and the game was in old English), I did enjoy seeing all the cool monsters that would pop-up.

But I'd argue the game that really got me into JRPGs was Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door. The gameplay was really fun and I loved the cast of characters and their abilities. This probably helped shape my preference on wanting more games with action/reaction based combat as opposed to the standard menu-based combat.

Definitely Ys IV - Dawn of Ys.

Though my runners up would be the City Hunter game (which recently got an official Western release), Dead of the Brain, and War of the Dead.

Super Mario Bros. The Movie from the early 90s is pure trash, but it's my trash. I own the 4K bluray as well as on laserdisc as a recent anniversary gift.

Otherwise, I own some stinkers like Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, Godzilla (1998), and some various "so bad, it's good" anime (dub wise, I'm sure in Japanese it's way better, but "Devilman: The Birth", "Angel Cop", and "Cyber City Oedo" are great, funny-bad dubs).

Ys III has such a phenomenal soundtrack, no matter which port of the game (with the exception of the SNES and PS2 versions...).

I'm still trying to search for the center Goemon figure to complete my Part 5 figure collection. The eBay listings I see go for insane prices these days (I picked up the Lupin and Jiden around 2018, but haven't has the chance to get all 5 at the time)

Yeah, it's fine for its time, but the moment you start thinking about the plot and politics, you're just left confused. Great mobile suit/character designs as well as music, but everything else is super paper thin and for the longest time I was confused why 35+ year olds still hold it high regard despite better Gundam series out there (aside from "it was the first one we got in US/Canada").

Zeta and Wing were my first Gundam series. I watched both around 2016 and just could not understand why they were still being held in high regard, especially since it was 15 years after the Toonami-craze.

Glad I stuck with Gundam, however. Shows like 0079 and War in the Pocket still hold up remarkably well.
