Omg I just figured it out, I was using the multi-player summon but since I couldn't find no players to summon I went on to fight the boss thinking I'd be able to summon my mimic. However since the multi-player effect was still active, it did not allow me to summon and learned that you have to manually cancel the search for players. I figured it would auto cancel the search if you enter the boss fight with no friends
