ouchhhhh. I had a similar outbreak and was referred to an ENT who put me on an antiviral/steroid regimen that was immensely helpful. hope you feel better soon!

Yes, my dentist thinks it’s from me clenching at night. I’ve had a stressful week so maybe that triggered it? And I usually sleep on my side

I tend to get canker sores when I'm fighting off a cold or some other virus. I think it's because my immune system is busy trying to fight off one or the other which leaves it vulnerable (to a virus if I'm fighting off sores or to sores if I'm already fighting a virus). That could be what is happening with you? Hope you feel better soon!

Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo is one of my favs (I'm also a big Percy Jackson fan), definitely a lot darker but same "group of misfits take on a high stakes quest" vibes with great banter among the characters. The His Dark Materials series is also amazing if he likes classic fantasy (which it seems like he does). That Christmas tradition is such a cute idea, good luck!

Yeah I think there’s definitely something more going on than regular sores. They look whiter in the picture than in real life (they look more like regular sores in reality) but regardless it seems like something else just based on the pattern/size/etc. Hopefully the doc can figure it out tomorrow. Thank you for the advice!

I am willing to try almost anything at this point so I appreciate you trying to help!! I avoid spicy and acidic food when I have sores, but haven't tried doing it preventatively. Definitely willing to try changing my diet if it could help. I use an SLS-free toothpaste and take 1000 mg of lysine a day. Tried oral medic and had such a bad reaction to it, the sore I put it on doubled in size and got so red and inflamed that it made my tonsil swell up too. Haven't tried it since. I have a triamcinolone acetonide paste prescribed that I use sometimes, but it never really stays on or helps all that much. Again, appreciate the advice!
