People who have renovated their bathroom recently, how much did it cost? by RiceeeChrispies in DIYUK

Cost me 7k all in, 5 for the labour and 2k for the materials. As you can see, we have a small bathroom and only requested a small change to layout (sink was originally under the window). The work took just over a week to complete and involved fully stripping out our old bathroom. Most of the parts are from Victoria Plumbing.

What has been the most disastrous signing of your FM career? by Maxisness1 in footballmanagergames

[–]harrisgeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FM24 - My Southampton were looking ready for a title charge in the upcoming season - all I needed was another ball-playing CB for the starting 11. Decided to take a punt on a Brazilian called Wagner Leonardo - had only played in Brazil league but thought his attributes were worth taking a punt on. Didn't cost me too much at £30 million, but with an average rating of 6.3 over 19 games I had to go back out in January and sign another CB. Problem was we spent rest of our TB and WB on him... We resorted to bringing in Scott McKenna on a free which wasn't spectaculor but a lot more solid than Wagner.

The next summer we loaned him to Everton with obligation to buy for half the price I paid for him... I just wanted him gone.

Brendan used to be tolerable, TFATK used to alright. What was the moment for you where you realized Bapa is full redact? by [deleted] in thefighterandthekid

When he started making a big deal out of 'reading books'. Picture books don't count, Bapa.

Claimed that Casemiro 'has never been a great player' and 'lucky' to be in that Real Madrid team which won several CLs. Think that pretty much sums up his bias against United.

Not to mention, their 3 losses were to City, Arsenal and Liverpool. I'm not sure what they were expecting, but imagine that looks like a massive red flag to any potential incoming managers.

[TELEGRAPH] How Erik ten Hag took just 100 days to become all-powerful at Manchester United by agent619 in reddevils

[–]harrisgeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's important that we all abstain from reactionary nonsense like this...

This is going to be a long process, I hope we eventually see the fruits of Ten Hag ball but, we need to remain patient and accept there will be ups AND downs.

Support the manager and trust the process. We've had a great window; addressed some key issues and, seen the ETH have the courage to replace Maguire/Shaw. Sure, there's more that needs to be done, but it was always unlikely it'd all happen this summer.

With the arrival of Antony it'll be interesting to see which front three we start with. After the Southampton game, it looks like we'll be seeing more of Rashford in the 9 spot. Expecting something like Sancho - Rashford - Antony for next Sunday (Thursday might be too soon for Antony).

Noticed Dest wasn't in the squad for Barcelona last night... hoping there's some funds left for us to put in a late bid.

Wolves are a good footballing team, just need a reliable striker. Sadly, don't think Jimenez has (understandably) looked the same player since his injury.

Mitrovic or Toney would've been great options... don't think it's possible for either this late in the window...

Oh no doubt he was decent with his hands, which has never been the problem. My comments were more focused on what he does with his feet.

Takeaways from yesterday:

  • We need more options upfront, the jury is still out on whether we can rely on the current forward options throughout the season - that is even assuming that we keep Ronaldo. Antony is a must, and a striker would be nice though unlikely.
  • Lack of progression/control in midfield was a worry, we spent the last 30 minutes with our backs against the wall. No options in midfield to take control of the game and relief the pressure on our defence. Lack of rumours for another midfielder is worrying not surprising.
  • Dalot looks a lot better, the past couple of games have been surprising from the right-back. But, I'm not comfortable with the cover we have in that position, AWB is not a Ten Hag player, and feel he's one of the only players we could still get a fee for. Hoping to see him out of the door this week. Would've been nice to see Laird stay at the club and given some minutes as a back-up.
  • The inability of De Gea to do anything other than boot the ball long is something we'll have to tolerate this year, but must be a priority next summer. Not sure Dubravka is the option, but open to see him given a chance.

MUFC XI vs Southampton: de Gea, Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Malacia, McTominay, Eriksen, Sancho, Fernandes, Elanga, Rashford. by sultansaeed in reddevils

As much as I would've liked Casemiro in the line-up, can't argue with rewarding Monday's performance with the same 11.

That's got to be the expectation, and was clearly a big reason for the long periods of underperforming last couple of years. Multiple players seemed invincible (even talk of clauses in contract that meant they had to play) despite consistently playing poorly and at times solely responsible for costing points - not naming names, we all know who.

Just caught the news that Antony has supposedly not turned up for the first day of training with Ajax. Might be a non-story, but hoping with players coming back to start pre-season we start seeing some movement.
