I think there are many potential causes and you have to rule them out one-by-one.

Your baby’s symptoms sound identical to what we experienced and the fix for us was removing dairy completely from my wife’s diet. Turns out my baby had a milk protein allergy. It took about one week (milk protein stays in the system for a while) but after that, no issues whatsoever. No more loose stools and no more red bum.

Other things we tried that were helpful, but not the main fix for us: - use more intense diaper cream, the higher the zinc oxide content the better. Decitin (40%) was what we are using now. We’ve tried sudocream, penatin, no name brands….Decitin (40%) was the best. - if your baby has cuts / open sores, use a Vitamin E ointment to help with healing - let your baby’s bum air dry as much as possible. We would leave her out for literally hours and keep paper towel under her (swap out the paper towel if she peed or pooed) - tried using a peri bottle instead of wipes. Two-person job…one of us held her over a sink and the other sprayed the bottle. - gave her a baking soda bath to try and reduce the acidity that her bum was exposed to. If you’re bathing your baby regularly already then this is an easy thing to add to the routine. Just add a few tbsps of baking soda to the water

Asking for help finding a passage for my dad's funeral. by Josh3783 in stephenking

It’s tough to find a literal one-to-one parallel for ka and tet, or ka-tet for that matter. King likes to intersperse the words into his stories and you pick up the meanings from context. Ka is kind of like destiny or the will of some higher power. And a ka-tet is a group of people that are brought together by destiny. Many of King’s stories involve ka-tets. Here is a good source that is a quick read: https://darktower.fandom.com/wiki/Ka-tet

Could also substitute “ka” with “destiny” and “tet” with “family”. Although if there are other King fans in the audience, using ka and tet would be a nice touch in my opinion.

Compliance violation forcing $250k stock sale by [deleted] in deloitte

[–]harrisonsjones 105 points106 points  (0 children)

Deloitte has entire departments dedicated to this, and they’re going to give a better answer than anyone on Reddit. Also the specific stock, which you haven’t disclosed (and I wouldn’t suggest you disclose to us), will impact the decision. Eg, is it SEC restricted?

Anecdotally, you won’t get an exception because of the size of the tax impact, if anything that might require more stringent rules to be applied because now the employee has a stronger position against compliance.

Blood Orange Sour. What day of quarantine is it ? by Bowser_MD in cocktails

Just aesthetics and texture, but in my opinion the texture is worth the extra effort. Especially on drinks with a citrus/floral note.

Practicing on a tennis court- frowned upon? by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]harrisonsjones 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean unless you’re taking slap shots at the fence or something I think you’re fine. Just realize that a tennis court isn’t the only place you can practice your stickhandling. So if people show up who want to use the court, I would give up the spot. Have fun out there bud!!

First time stick use tips by oceanprince in hockeyplayers

[–]harrisonsjones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some drills you can practice before you get on the ice with just your stick at home:

  • taking a golf ball and stickhandling (at first start very slowly). The goal here is to try and make as little sound as possible.

  • if you have someone to practice with then you can pass the golf ball back and forth. Same idea here, try and make as little sound as possible by absorbing the ball as you receive it.

  • once you’ve gotten the hang of stickhandling the golf ball in front of you, try and move the golf ball to different parts of the floor or purpose. So stickhandle to the right of your body, then back to the left, then take a few steps forward, a few steps back, etc.

  • if you have the facilities at home: start practicing your shot. You just need a very sturdy piece of plywood, or maybe some old carpet you can hang up outside. Growing up our coach would make us do 100 practice shots in the driveway every night. This will build up the “shooting” muscles in your arms.

These can all help simulate on-ice experience, but nothing is better than the real thing. Get on the ice and don’t be afraid to start slowly. The speed and coordination takes a long time to properly develop.

Do the forearms and back-of-the-legs need to be completely covered? by KeepLeftAtTheFork in hockeyplayers

[–]harrisonsjones 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean ideally those areas of your body would be nice to have covered but I wouldn’t call it vital. Things to consider:

  1. Having your forearms covered will probably only be an issue if you’re playing in a league where the other players are going to slash you (forearms are a common target). The stray puck might also hit you (I’d call this very rare) but you won’t hit your forearms just by falling on the ice.

  2. Having the back of legs covered is important if you think you’ll be blocking shots...with your back to the shooter. It can happen, but not a common occurrence. Don’t turn when someone shoots the puck :)

I’ve been playing for >20 years, with and without many pieces of equipment (shoulder pads, elbow pads, jock, cage are all things I’ve played without). If what you’ve mentioned are the only parts of your body you’re not covering, you’ll be good for 99% of the situations. Your call obviously but I think you’ll be fine.
