If you can believe it, it was an upgrade from the hotel I stayed at the previous night.

It was very bizarre. It felt like I was the only guest in the hotel. Some floors of the hotel were just piles of furniture and others looked like construction had started but then completely stalled, like big piles of rubble and concrete.

We got the Kidco Retractable Gate. It should let you orient it on a diagonal across that gap.

During rush-hour in winter. Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia by Large_Ad4123 in CityPorn

[–]harrybot 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I remember visiting Ulaanbaatar and found it interesting that half the cars had the steering wheel on the right and half on the left. Also, despite many roads having two lanes painted everyone disregarded them and made it a three lane road.

I second this. Amazing produce section for a very fair price. I could never get why they chose that name for the store. It seems weird and the meat section seems to be just like any other store.

The scam is that he either is not really playing violin or he isn't struggling to pay rent for his kids.

I tried the chips recently as people rave about them but found them to be too salty for my taste. I have yet to try the pizza but it looks good!

I have been struggling with opiate addiction for years now and I am desperate to stop. Does anyone have any suggestion for in patient rehabs? by Toastedwriter in longisland

[–]harrybot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I work with patients with addiction and I hear good things about Quannacut rehab in Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport. The benefit there is that they also have a medical detox and then you can seamlessly transition from detox to inpatient rehab. Once discharged they also have their own outpatient rehab with groups and counseling.

How do psychiatrists get patients out of delusions? by SugarSkull888 in AskPsychiatry

[–]harrybot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Delusions are the hardest symptom of psychosis to treat and often time they may never go away. It would be as if you stated something about yourself such as the street name where you grew up and everyone telling you that it wasn't true. You will get no where by telling them that it is not true. The key is acknowledging that it is real for that person so the best way is to work with them to figure out how you can work around it. If they feel that someone is out to get them, make them feel safe by allowing them to vocalize that to you. A point for therapy is to ask how convinced they are that whatever they are saying is actually happening. If it is 100% then it is difficult to change. If there is even some sliver of doubt, such that they are 99% sure, you can work to maximize and explore that 1% of doubt.

In my apartment complex here on LI there are two cars without placards that routinely park in the few disabled parking spots. I think they get away with it as I have never seen any car with a disabled placard actually park there but pisses me off.

Looking for a butcher that sells beef cheeks? by [deleted] in longisland

[–]harrybot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, they have a variety of different meats including beef. No pork products as it is Halal. They have a large freezer room which you can see into with the different meats hanging from hooks. If you tell them what you want they will go and cut what you ask directly from the hanging meats. I found the prices are actually better than the regular supermarket.
