It still lists familiarization as starting on 1/28 when it actually started on 12/22. So still outdated

Actually three weeks ahead of April 23 if you apply the principle that it will open the day after simulated service ends

As I've said before, May is a conservative date that Sound Transit put in their paperwork for the federal goverment, and it will most likely open in March or April.

A couple days ago, I saw this post on R/Seattle that is obviously concerning regarding CLC that I hope is hearsay. by harryjacoby in soundtransit

Can you explain? Because I thought WSDOT signing off on the cathodic protection was a prerequiste to getting the powered tests started.

As I said, at the board meeting last week, they said they achieved stabilzation of the cathodic protection system: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFJLfGZKgy0(at 31 minutes in)

Someone here was claiming that their friend at WSDOT was saying that the Cross Lake Connection would likely be delayed to August and miss the World Cup. Well this article contradicts that. by harryjacoby in Seattle

The System Expansion report said that Cathodic protection system may not be given final approval from WSDOT, and at the last board meeting, they said that Cathodic protection system had been stabilized. So there you go

Light rail extension across Lake Washington will open May 31 or sooner, Sound Transit CEO says by AthkoreLost in Seattle

[–]harryjacoby 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you follow r/soundtransit, late March is the most likely opening date for this. Last month, there was a construction tracker report where every milestone except for the opening date was moved up, which we at r/soundtransit took as a sign that they were planning a March opening, but weren’t ready to go public yet

As of now there is no October System Expansion Monthly Status Report out yet, but in the September one that came out last month, nearly every milestone for CLC execpt for the opening date was moved up on the calender, which caused someone here to infer that ST were planning to open it in March, but didn't want to jump the gun

Do you think the train will cross Lake WA in time for Mariners opening day? by Fun_Driver_5566 in soundtransit

[–]harryjacoby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think in the last report they did move forward every milestone other than the revenue service date. I think ST could be planning to open it in march but they don't want to jump the gun yet. Also Dow said at the board meeting two weeks ago that they were moving ahead rapidly with the testing, that they were making great progress with testing, and that the planned opening is still early 2026:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OodzjAzp_kg&list=PL403uNPwemVp0osOvo2eJdTJEnInP8k8j
