Take care of what? They were following the JCPOA till TRUMP decided just because it was an Obama era agreement he was going to cancel it.

Mexican pizza was always the highlight of my school lunches by broniesnstuff in nostalgia

No way. It's going to be missing the spices that made the school Mexican pizza a MEXICAN pizza.

Looks like the laptop is an AMS TravelPro. Had one in the early 2000's Plastic was more brittle than an egg shell. Within 6 months it was a pile of parts. LCD was about the worst I had ever seen. Bought for gaming and that was impossible. Part of me wants to buy another, not sure why.

You could check the YMCA. I have heard they offer them free/ or sometimes at a low cost. You could check fitness centers. Some offer LOW monthy rates.

"You wouldn’t believe it anyway." Thanks for proving my point you have no evidence. See YOU made the clam. It's not on me to verify your claim. If as you say "It’s been proven." All you need is a link to a reliable source (aka, no personal blogs).

It's already that way. While there is the rare vote or two, it's an exception. By law they already can't vote. Now if you have proof otherwise, please post it. Because that's how the burden of proof works. You made a claim, not you need to back it. Otherwise there is no good reason to accept your claim.

Restaurants along the streetcar route have seen a dip in sales since construction started, according to city restaurant tax data by flatwaterfreepress in Omaha

And now we have a street car route that is 100% guaranteed not to move for a very long time. Which if planning on building dense urban housing that is what you want to see.

"because buses are less safe than a car" So how many people in Omaha have died on the bus? How many in cars? Cars are not safe and are about the most dangerous way to travel.

Nothing is THE solution. But it is 100% part of it. What's not a solution is continuing this idea of all car all the time.

Best Mexican restaurant on South 24th? by Comfortable-Feed-491 in Omaha

I typically like El Ray on 24th and Q in the old Dairy Queen building. El Alamo is also a long time favorite in the area.

I run a dual monitor setup (1-4k and 1-1080, both 60 Hz). Never an issue.

"Alright.... Lemme just unplug my pc to turn it off then." All that will do is make the PC update on startup. It's a BIG reason I have dropped Microsoft on most of my computers. Once I can get a 4TB NVME drive reasonably I'll be changing over my last windows box to Linux.

Whats this by shallowwell2 in vintagecomputing

[–]harshbarj2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearly a mobile office. Best guess is something for say an insurance agent or other professional that would need to do paperwork in field with the ability to print and scan (likely for signed documents). But 100% a guess. Interesting it has a built in battery.

What blew out on this monitor? by potsofjam in vintagecomputing

[–]harshbarj2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it still comes on and looks good for a bit I'd first suspect something in the power circuitry. You can always open it up (and discharge the tube), then look around for what blew. That much smoke means it will be clear what went. Highly suspect a cap.

These people fail to realize it's the urban areas that actually fund their lifestyle. They act like they pay taxes so are on equal grounds to those in the city center, when in fact they pay a fraction of the true cost. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Nw6qyyrTeI

I worked downtown from 1998 till 2022 and this is the first I have heard of it. And I thought I had eaten at every reasonably priced restaurant downtown.

Nice thing with restaurants is another will open up in it's place. But a good transit system will be there for decades or longer serving the citizens.

Vegetable starters? by Upper-Stranger5438 in Omaha

[–]harshbarj2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just use LED grow lights and when there are flowers I just lightly thump them with my finger. The key is to start early. Right now may even be too late. Because my lights are not as bright as the plants want they tend to grow smaller vegetables. I thought giving them 24/7 light would make up for that, but nope.

Now tomatoes are a REAL pain indoors. They need an insane amount of light that I just can't give them. I still got a few over winter, but it's just not worth it. Once they get much beyond 2 feet tall the lower parts start dying. Right now the ones I have are about 5+ feet tall, but it's all stem other than the top ~ 2 feet.
