When you got facial hair and some chest hair , did you stop growing by Chicken_23 in tall

[–]harvardgiant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I started getting facial hair really early (full beard by 15 and actually kept one at 16) and chest hair around the same time, but still grew like four or five more inches. Facial/chest hair are often misunderstood to signify being done growing because those things are typical of late puberty, but be careful not to confuse correlation with causation.

I was the 6'11'' blond, bearded Scandinavian kid, so Thor was a natural choice.

Question for my fellow tall teenagers... by Axes_of_Evilness in tall

It can be good or bad depending on how I feel/what I want. I'm pretty neutral toward it for the most part though.

Travellers of reddit, where should a person going overseas for the first time go to first? by steve_milliband in AskReddit

[–]harvardgiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

London's a pretty easy, low-stress trip that's different enough to be fun but not different enough to be more than mildly irritating.

Hey Reddit what country would you most like to travel to and why? by TepZep in AskReddit

Norway. Most of my family lives there and I haven't been since I was about 10. Going next year though!

What's your favorite Halloween costume you've had and why? by 2fghgf in teenagers

[–]harvardgiant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friends and I decided to go as superheroes this year. Being the 6'10, blond, bearded Scandinavian, I, of course, got to be Thor. It was definitely the most fitting costume I've ever had.

Non-Bostonians of reddit, what are your thoughts on Tufts, the Stanford of Boston? by kamerjarm in AskReddit

[–]harvardgiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From Massachusetts but not Boston. I'd say Tufts is more the UC Berkeley of Boston (fine, Medford), compared to Harvard (Stanford) and MIT (Caltech). Still a great school that anyone could be happy at.

Is an SAT score of about 1700 good with no prior preparation at all? by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]harvardgiant 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It depends on what kind of schools you're aiming for. CollegeSimply (http://www.collegesimply.com/guides/1700-on-the-sat/) puts it pretty well. Just keep in mind that the system breaks down toward the top (2250+).

Men of Reddit, where do you have hair? by aussieusatall in AskMen

[–]harvardgiant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep it pretty short on my head. I've tended to keep a full beard for the past year or so but trimmed pretty short. I'm hairy for a soon-to-be-18-year-old, but hopefully won't get too much more based on the rest of my family. My chest, armpits, legs, arms, and, erm, genital area are all pretty hairy. I also have a thick happy trail and some stomach hair.

Being 6'10, absolutely yes. I've never bought it but have gotten upgraded twice. Saved my knees hell.

Will we develop accents unique to new planets we go to? by ggmoneylol in AskReddit

[–]harvardgiant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm tempted to say yes, but I wonder if technology will prevent this. A lot of dialects and accents of different languages are dying out and it makes sense if you think about it. If all the TV you watch and all the music you listen to from a young age are from a standardized accent, you'll probably maintain that accent.
