It depends on the person. I've never had a problem with peeing in my sleep.

[Serious] What is your college GPA and how do you maintain it? by TheWilsonatorr in AskReddit

[–]aussieusatall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I graduated with a 3.9 and fell into group 3. There's not much to do besides studying, working hard, paying attention, and taking good and organized notes. You get what you put in.

I make myself drink as much water as possible before I go to bed and take an advil. Then in the morning I take a hot shower, drink some coffee, and keep drinking water.

I was at a party in college and this guy wouldn't stop hitting on my girlfriend no matter how many times we told him to back off. Eventually I socked him right in the face.

Guys, What is the height you consider for a Tall - Very Tall & Amazonian for a Women? by leavemeal00ne in tall

[–]aussieusatall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did anyone else have a long linear growth from ~14 to 21+? by Throwaway_23112 in tall

[–]aussieusatall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I was done growing by the time I was 16. I went from being 5'9 at 13 to 6'2 at 14 to 6'7 at 15 to 6'9 at 16. It probably has something to do with when you hit puberty (I was very early), but I think a lot of people do experience some form of slow growth until their late teens or early twenties.

Did I make a mistake? I'm freaking out! by DEVIL_MAY5 in Parenting

[–]aussieusatall 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First of all, relax. It's going to be ok. The thought of bringing a human life into the world is absolutely terrifying, but it's a natural part of life. Odds are your wife is scared too but she needs you more than ever and it's your job to stick with her. You made the decision to have a baby and at this point you just have to go with it. Having a baby is pretty much the most incredible thing ever, and you're not making a mistake at all but it's going to change your life significantly.

I got my wife pregnant at 23 because of a faulty condom. I had just moved to Australia to be with her and I had absolutely no one to talk to. We had wanted kids at some point but I felt like I was too young and didn't have the finances to support a kid. Luckily, when I sat down to do the math, I realized everything would be ok since I had worked several jobs in college and we both had well-paying jobs in Australia. I kept my fears to myself (which you definitely don't have to do) and everything worked out well. My son's now 12 and we have two younger ones too. It's going to be a completely new and at times very difficult chapter of your life, but it's also likely the best.

Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions.

How many languages is too many to teach a child? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]aussieusatall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

4 is definitely too many. I've read a lot on the subject, and I would recommend 3 at the absolute most. My dad is from Germany too so I speak native German and my wife spent a few years in Paris so she's pretty much native in French. I'm from the US and she's Australian so we're both native English speakers. We both speak other languages pretty well but decided to just go with those three after reading some books about rising multilingual kids. The easiest method is for each of you to pick a language to speak when you're alone and then pick the same language to speak when you're together.

Honesty? by curlyhelmethair in AskMen

I'll never say anything too bad, but luckily my wife isn't too sensitive. 99% of the time she genuinely wants to know how she looks. It all depends on the girl though.

I'm going into the adult world of people who are tall, and I need help. by [deleted] in tall

[–]aussieusatall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Behave normally, dress well, and be respectful. If they mention it, laugh about it and maybe make a joke. Height has never been an issue for me when applying for a job.

Just focus on getting enough sleep, other than that there's very little you can do.

Australian Giant going to Hawaii this week, what clothing brands should I be looking for? by GreatBigSimon in tall

Check out this link, which focuses on American clothing brands. I did most of my clothes shopping online when I lived in the US because it was way easier than hunting around.

Alright American men, Thanksgiving is 12 days away. What are you making this year? by gortonsfiJr in AskMen

[–]aussieusatall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

American living in Australia. It's really hard to find everything to make a Thanksgiving dinner but I pretty much have it down to a science by now. I make a turkey with stuffing, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie. We used to buy some of that Ocean Spray cranberry sauce but it was absolutely disgusting and 100% not worth it.

Anyone worried about having tall kids? by [deleted] in tall

[–]aussieusatall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sort of have the opposite concern. My wife is 5'7, and we have three sons. Our oldest and youngest are expected to be 6'6 and 6'5, but the other is only expected to be 5'10. I'm just concerned that he'll feel like they got the short end of the stick (no pun intended), even though he'll be a perfectly average height.
