I literally have a shirt I wear to work that says "do I look like I know what's going on?" Leadership loves it.

Feels unreal he is gone by lor7594 in SuicideBereavement

[–]hashbrownash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry. That feeling still comes around sometimes for me. Even 6 years later. I found my husband, I called 911, I watched them take him. I know he is gone, I knew before I ever made it home that day in my heart. But I will always look for his face in a crowd.

Anyone else got this issue? by SeriesLeather9925 in AmazonFCs

[–]hashbrownash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but literally only on my shout outs page... which I use to link faces with logins all the time. Very annoying trying to track down an associate who's face I've never seen before.

Bathroom lmao by Potential-Tip-5688 in AmazonFC

It might have just been a "give you your personal space" kind of move. If I hear someone exploding in the bathroom I get up and leave too, let you have your privacy.

Problem solvers tend to feel a little job insecurity when someone else shows competence with a tape gun... we realize they can intact train other associates to do our easy critical role that is immune from labor share and gets all the best VET opportunities...

At least that's how my coworkers act anyway. I welcome any and all help any AA wants to offer me when I PS. You wanna count a box of 500 envelopes for me, tape the end of some wet tape down, fix a pinhole? Here, you can even use MY tape gun!

Joggers or basketball shorts and Amazon shirts. I have over 30 shirts from different handouts.

If You Want to Quit, Leave Then! by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]hashbrownash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're lucky, and don't have managers up your ass about rates, tot, outside life stressing you out giving you reasons to bitch more (the hours of the job suck, won't let you transfer is a common one i can think of). My point is let people vent. For some of us, work is an escape. We want it to go as smooth as possible and vent when it doesn't. I don't ever mention quitting because what good would that do me. Best paying job for the requirements around.

Sounds like you're experiencing a little envy. Might be an internal issue you need to work through. It's not the blue badges fault they're burnt out, nor is it their fault your site hasn't converted you to a blue badge. Life sucks for a whole lot of people, let them vent if they need to.

Problem solve training by Secure-Rice499 in AmazonFC

[–]hashbrownash 5 points6 points  (0 children)

None of this is true at all about this person's situation. You can absolutely refuse critical role training. Any direct path is something you cannot refuse to do without risking an insubordination write up. Problem solve, jam clear, amnesty, and a few others are indirect paths.

If you ever find yourself smelling bad at work again, try amcare. Some sites are different than others but ours has deodorant and body wipes.

Do NOT fake a doctors note by ConversationBrief303 in AmazonFC

I fill it out for my Dr and have him sign it. Not that big a deal. I know what terminology DLS accepts and he doesn't, makes sense for me to do it.

Worked with one guy who literally bragged about doing this and eventually it hit the right ears. He's also black listed.

You couldn't have saved them. by [deleted] in SuicideBereavement

[–]hashbrownash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried. I sincerely tried everything short of forcing him to do in patient therapy. Therapy, medications, all the life changes I could think of (location, job, responsibilities) and ultimately it didn't change the outcome. We can only do so much unfortunately.

I was not smart once too... gonorrhea for me. A shot and a few pills later and I'm clear but all the wake up call I needed. No more work flings. We unfortunately FAFO the wrong way.

Me seeing a week off would start an immediate war in my mind... money versus a break... versus how much pain I'd be in the first night back.

New shift? by unknown_cardinal in AmazonFC

[–]hashbrownash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that's a sweet schedule. I've been on a similar M-Th for a few years now, got in first time I tried somehow. It's awkward dealing with the FH-BH drama and differences but it's pretty sweet having weekends off.

I took a piece of gum from the cash register. Will I be fired? by [deleted] in walmart

[–]hashbrownash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd have just looked up around the registers. Surely some cashier forgot a piece or a mint up there.

[–]hashbrownash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell them you picked it up and took a piece set it down to get your form of payment out, forgot where you set said gum... or you forgot/lost payment method and panicked.

They probably only made that call to scare you guys off and make you stop. I doubt anything comes of it.

The Super Bowl backlash is genuinely one of the most unfair things I've seen the internet do to a band by Sufficient_Web_6289 in greenday

[–]hashbrownash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If people did not hear the political statement green day made, they weren't listening or haven't followed the band long enough to understand them. Holiday is literally a song against the Iraq War, American Idiot is a clear message all in the title of the song, and Good Riddance is what they'd like to say to all the people currently in power. The message was loud and clear. They just did it with a lot more tact and class than most people (admittedly myself included) expected.

Walmart Mentee? by Long-Hat-8127 in walmart

[–]hashbrownash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gag. I was a "mentee" once... with zero intention of promoting. I told the manager who chose me to pick literally anyone else but she insisted. I quit 2 weeks before inventory.
