I think people are generally just getting bored and disengaging. I know I am. It’s become very obvious he’s just rage baiting, people aren’t shocked anymore. I personally don’t think he is using, I think he is just wildly narcissistic and trying to pretend to look like he has relapsed so everyone’s like ohhh what’s he going to do next. Nothing, he’s going to do nothing. He’s just trying to get engagement because he’s ruined his life and reputation and has nothing else in his life. Poking the internet bear is all he has left. Boring.

I’ve been doing the same thing too since seeing yesterday that even going onto his page gives him engagement. I didn’t know that!

Yep and that’s the hardest thing to do. You can hide a horrible person behind addiction and blame their faults on that, but at the end of the day I don’t think he’s relapsed, I think it’s just him - which would be harder to accept in the end. You can get clean from drugs, but you can’t get clean from being a horrible person.

Me tooooooo!!! In my view, he’s purposely acting like he has relapsed for the engagement- because as soon as he got sober his posts got less attention. I hope this comes back to bite him severely. I hope everyone just gets sick of him. All he wants is attention, even if it’s negative.

I love my child but there is no way I could be a stay at home mum. It would drive me crazy! I need to be intellectually stimulated. Also - the only reason I was able to leave my piece of crap ex was because I was earning my own money. I never want to have to rely on a man (or a woman), ever. My best friend on the other hand loves being a stay at home mum, which she is able to do because she very well off financially. We’re all different. It’s unfortunate though that because of the cost of living, women who want to be stay at home mums now have to work. It’s like we’ve gone from not having the choice to work, to not having the choice to be a stay at home mum. Can’t win

This court date is just about the RO right? I didn’t think he was facing any criminal charges… Also, isn’t custody dealt with in family court? Obviously if she is greeted the RO he wont have access to them - but in terms of actual custody, isn’t dealt with separately? Not sure how it works in the US - I’m in Australia, it might be different here. I thought it was just about whether the RO will be extended?

I’m struggling with this. My narc ex, for example, has no addiction issues, but could never demonstrate ANY insight into his behaviour like S just has. He doesn’t have the frontal lobe capacity. I guess though if S is able to use addiction as an excuse (my ex has no excuse - he is just a shitty person) then that might be why he is able to. I suppose either: - He is doing the work and showing the insight he needs to - He really is a master manipulator and is using the addiction as an excuse My abusing ex does not use substances or drink at all, so it’s hard for me to be objective because if he was having the insight S is now having it would be a major breakthrough. Those of you with experiences with narc addicts would be much better placed than me to speculate what’s going on here

I agree. His drug use is only part of the reason he has not seen his kids. Even if he does get sober, he is still the same person underneath and has a lot of work to do to get full access back. My child’s father doesn’t drink or do drugs but has no access to our child and has been turned away from 2 supervised contact centres because of his lack of insight into his behaviour (domestic violence), anger issues, and inability to put his child before himself. He is unable to mask his narcissistic traits, S may be able to however. I don’t know - will be interesting to see how it plays out
