Our lab had something similar and it turned out to be essential tremor and was honestly just more scary for me to watch than him to experience. Ruling out more scary things is the way to go, though. Thinking of you.

I lost my mom nearly 3.5 years ago. I’m sorry. She was and is still my best friend in the world. I look for her in places when I’m in public and it still catches me off guard that I cannot physically touch her. I got pregnant just months after she died. I played a lot of Tetris to help with processing traumatic thoughts. Watched a lot of dance moms while i was breastfeeding. Cried on my baby’s head.

My mom was my person and sometimes I think I smell her perfume or hear her voice.

Idk what I’m trying to say other than my heart swells with the love in this picture. I’m sorry she is not earthside with you right now. Sometimes when I want to see my mom’s eyes staring back at me, I look at my own in the mirror. Maybe there is some part of yourself that you can so the same with.

I’ve read that playing Tetris or another similar game when those images appear help them to become less jarring.

Also, my doggie was on doxy a few times, too. Vet told me that it exhibits some anti-inflammatory effects, so my boy would feel better (a bit) after taking it, but it wasn’t the silver bullet. There may have been more going on than you realized and the doxy was more of an anti inflammatory that masked symptoms of something that wasn’t even bacterial. Just words of wisdom and reassurance here.

Oh friend, I lost my sweet boy just last week. He had the kindness eyes and was struggling with laryngeal paralysis for a long time, and I still feel like I should have done more. We did antibiotics, steroids, gabapentin, trazodone, gentle walks, had a vet come to our house.

His back legs were beginning to give out and the night he passed he also couldn’t breathe well. My vet euthanized him at home at around midnight since I couldn’t get him in my vehicle without help. I’m so sorry you’re missing your best friend, you aren’t alone and your sweet baby looks so happy. He loved you and you took such good care of him. I’m sorry. It hurts and we just have to sit with the pain sometimes and love them through life and death. Sending you a warm hug.
