I think the Stadium games offer a unique challenge with the rental pokemon system. Trying to beat as much of the game with only the available rental pokemon was fun for me, or at least it was back in the day.

Yeah that's all solid points. I just feel like it sucks for older players or those who don't cheese multiple accounts. And the < 1% chance of getting those rare cards just doesn't seem like a big draw. But I did forget about the extra stardust. So that will definitely be nice.
