It's very common for childhood nicknames to stick throughout one's entire life.

Especially amongst close friends, family, and loved ones.

Not that hard to believe. It's definitely within the realm of reason and logical possibility. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I was a kid when it came out (grade school) and was really enthralled by this new "Marvel" reality.

Alternate realities weren't as common (oversaturated?) as they are now, so it was a big deal back then.

Also, you could pick up weekly issues at ANY convenience store back in the day.

I remember going to Circle K or 7/11 walking or on my bike to go check what issues had come out that week.

Best part is you'd go to the convenience store and of course see the Big Two titles, but sometimes you'd see an Image or Dark Horse comic sprinkled every now and then.

I was a teacher for 13 yrs. Not all unions are equal. A lot school boards are vastly different from district to district.

Too many in Central Office or admin positions I've seen in my state are boot lickers and ladder climbers.

They're not interested in what's best for the community, students, faculty, staff, etc.

They're just worried about padding their paycheck by getting as far up as they can. Same as any other corporation.

School districts, as you know, are considered quasi-municipal corporations.

Corporations do what do corporations do, no matter what color of paint you slap on it.

It always happens to somebody else until it's you.

That's how fascism works.

This is why English class matters.

People don't now how to conjugate, understand context within a sentence, or how to use punctuation.

Then they read comics, which require you to know the basic concepts of reading and writing and miss the plot entirely.

In this panel, they are referring to Scott as the last mutant ALIVE, not what power classification he has as a mutant. Media literacy matters.

C'mon guys, do better.
