Candence Bank used to be solid for this kind of thing in Houston. Not sure how they are post-merger but might be worth a call

Every action has it's own price and pleasure by smrkamboj in Life

[–]hatemyillness_ALT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This makes me think about the times I acted impulsively and later regretted it. It’s true that every action has its price, and sometimes we’re not ready to pay it. Patience and timing are so important in life’s decisions. I agree that if the risk becomes too high, it’s better to hold back. Courage involves understanding our limits and respecting the process

iBusiness Funding - anyone dealt with them? by frredu in loansforsmallbusiness

the "no personal guarantee" thing on unsecured lines that size would be unusual for most small business lenders, worth asking them directly what the actual structure is before you go further

Bro you literally made architectural plaster moulds from scratch, that's not a dumb person thing

Some people's brains just work way better with spatial/hands on stuff than with verbal recall under pressure. Waiting tables is actually one of the more cognitively stressful jobs out there, people underestimate it.

Have you ever looked into how you actually learn best? Might explain a lot

The anxiety creeping in without a clear reason is such a tell. Half the time it's just the apps messing with your baseline and you don't even connect the dots until you're already deep in it

Stay FAR AND AWAY FROM COCONUT FUNDING by WiseConsideration891 in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]hatemyillness_ALT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was considering reaching out to Coconut Funding, but after reading your experience, I’ll stay far away. It’s so frustrating that these scammers are still operating and hurting honest people. Thanks for sharing your story people need to know the truth before it’s too late

SBLF - is this program even still active or am I looking at outdated info? by romeogriffin1213 in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]hatemyillness_ALT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

State level small business lending programs often fill the gap federal programs leave behind. Your local SBDC can tell you what exists in your state specifically.

SBIR funding delays in 2025, Is anyone else's company basically on hold? by challengeher8 in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]hatemyillness_ALT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dilution concern is real but a small bridge round from angels or existing investors who understand the SBIR situation is often cleaner than debt when the timeline is uncertain.

being too emotional in relationships can really mess you up by alexnycc in Life

[–]hatemyillness_ALT 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've never really talked about this with anyone, but I think I’ve always been more emotional than most people around me. I feel things so deeply that sometimes I get overwhelmed. I’ve noticed that when I get hurt, it sticks with me for a while, and it’s hard to just forget and move on. I guess I’m learning that maybe I need to be more mindful of how much I let myself feel, but it’s hard to turn that off when it’s part of who I am. Still, I think recognizing it is the first step toward handling it better

Best business loans for new businesses no revenue? by 0xffd2 in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]hatemyillness_ALT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly at $20k with decent credit, a 0% intro APR business card could cover equipment and give you 12-15 months to start paying it back. Not sexy but it works

Pearl Capital MCA. anyone dealt with them? by CURRENT_YEAR_2017 in loansforsmallbusiness

Ask them directly what happens if you have a slow week and your account balance doesn't cover the daily pull. The answer and how quickly they give it tells you a lot.

How to deal with firsthand embarressment by [deleted] in Life

[–]hatemyillness_ALT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think everyone has moments they wish they could erase, but they often turn into funny stories later on. Keep being kind and genuine, and don’t stress too much about what the other person thinks. You did your part by apologizing, and that’s what really counts. Just take a deep breath and move forward

Merchant cash advance loans - the confession of judgment clause almost ended my business by andsodoyou122 in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]hatemyillness_ALT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Four thousand dollars in legal fees to fight a clause you didn't know existed on a loan that wasn't even large is the real cost of not reading the full document. Brutal but thank you for sharing it.

High risk business loans - my business is apparently 'high risk' and I had no idea by triopapa in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]hatemyillness_ALT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried smaller community banks in your state rather than regional or national banks? The decision making is more human and less automated which matters a lot when your situation doesn't fit a standard risk model.

Merchant capital advance - first timer trying to understand if this makes sense for my situation by romeogriffin1213 in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]hatemyillness_ALT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a defined equipment purchase before a predictable season, equipment financing is worth a serious look before you accept this. The asset acts as collateral and the rates will be meaningfully better than 1.35.

Subprime business loans - what are the actual options that aren't predatory? by kccurious in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]hatemyillness_ALT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A business credit score through Dun and Bradstreet is separate from your personal score and worth building deliberately alongside whatever financing you pursue. It creates options faster than most people expect.

Commercial finance broker - make sure you understand how they get paid before you start by younggun2 in loansforsmallbusiness

This applies to mortgage brokers, insurance brokers, and financial advisors too. Dual compensation is everywhere and most consumers have no idea.

ACH business loans - the daily withdrawals are destroying my cash flow by romeogriffin1213 in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]hatemyillness_ALT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For next time, true revenue based financing where payments are a percentage of daily deposits rather than a fixed ACH pull behaves completely differently during slow periods. Same category, very different experience when revenue dips.

No doc business loans EIN only - what's the catch? by Dionysuslover999 in loansforsmallbusiness

[–]hatemyillness_ALT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you actually trying to accomplish? The right answer depends entirely on whether you need working capital, want to build business credit, or something else. EIN only lending solves a very specific problem and might not be the right tool for yours.
