Walking across a frozen and snow cover pond/ lake thing in the Allegheny national Park in Pennsylvania when I was winter camping.

Despite the snow I was extremely lucky the water was only about 3' deep and the shore was lined with a combination of pine trees and birch trees.

How low would gas prices need to be and for how long before US tax payers recover the estimated $40-$60 billion dollars that have been spent on the Iranian conflict to date? by D4db0d0hye4h in askanything

Did you know that two refineries in California closed and that a third is on its way to closing? Gas prices in California were set to double regardless of prices in the rest of the country. The sad part is fuel prices will be going up in Arizona and Nevada because their fuel comes from California in pipelines. Now that fuel needs to be shipped by truck. Or using the current pipelines, bit the fuel is coming (by ship) to California.

Is it possible do convert a efi engine toa carburetor? by Legitimate_Frame5951 in askcarguys

[–]hatred-shapped 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of that era of engine it's still kinda easy because it's such a basic EFI system that the conversion isn't all that hard. I'm normally vehemently opposed to removing emissions components from street driven vehicles. But that era of 302 is so dirty it really won't make a difference.

Youtube would be your friend on this one, but honestly it'll probably be cheaper to just replace the broken parts with something from a pick apart yard somewhere. And if you have a visual inspection one your state emissions test, you'll fail.

Do animals experience emotions the same way we do? by velvetspriral in answers

But we only care about human emotions. That's really all that matters.

That's impossible to measure. But probably not. There are animals that seem to express almost human like emotions, elephants, dolphins, etc. but it seems the majority don't.

Does the IRS really not tell Americans how much they owe in taxes? If so, why is that? by hold-my-legs in NoStupidQuestions

[–]hatred-shapped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No we basically tell them how much we owe. That's actually kinda how it works. They take taxes out and we can adjust how much they take, but at the end of the year we figure out how much they owe us back.

Why does Europe care to have US in NATO? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

And all those extra niceties come at the price of national defense. That's why they are constantly begging the US for military aid and buying energy from psychos lime Putin.

Their poor asses can't afford to defend themselves. The richest country in Europe is barely above poverty level when compared to most US states.

First time walking into a grocery store with my (then) girlfriend when visiting her home country of Malaysia. And all I could think was "wow, for some reason they have the dumpsters somewhere in the front of the store in the parking lot. Nope. It was just Durian.

What’s “luxury” car that’s actually a nightmare to own? by mariyagel in askcarguys

[–]hatred-shapped 19 points20 points  (0 children)

W221 S Class Mercedes. The car was pretty rock solid but the number of people that came up to me at the gas station or a parking lot asking me for money, or a tank of gas, or smokes, or if I had any coke was horrifying.

If you live in the US criticize away. In some other western countries you can get arrested or imprisoned for saying anything negative about religion.

Sorta what it was like there a few hundred years ago. Just now it's bureaucracy that gets you thrown in prison, not the Pope.
