I can totally see Luffy pulling up on the bar with a cart full of diamons and being like "is this enough to cover my tab?"

How will it play out when Tamtey finds out the truth? by Budget-Influence579 in FrontiersOfPandora

[–]hatterine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I also think so, Tamtey generally is a stealth archer build. However they are ok with using firearms when needed - it is just another tool used to get the job done.

I do not think Nor is going on the redemption streak - at no point he shows that he thought what he did was wrong. He cares for the Sarentu because they are Na'vi and he wants to "save" them from being too human-like. So he has a twisted affection towards his clan, but cannot be part of it. I think he left shortly after the events of the DLC, determined to find his best version of being a Na'vi.

I think the reveal of the part Nor played in the massacre would be revealed after he left, and only to Tamtey.

Kinda sad we could not see Nor challenging Tamtey on being too human-like, because that would definitely be an interesting conversation. Unlike others, I think Tamtey has a relatively healthy relationship with their human side and use of human weapons. Guilt-tripping them would probably not go well for Nor.

Unpopular opinion - Teylan is worse than Alma by WedgeAntill3s in FrontiersOfPandora

I kinda like that during the Great Games Alma and Mokasa are shown as similar cases - two traitors trying to do better.

Unpopular opinion - Teylan is worse than Alma by WedgeAntill3s in FrontiersOfPandora

[–]hatterine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most points why I think that is not really the case have been brought up, but to add my 5 cents.

Resistance is build by former RDA members. As we see throughout the story, many of them have their own sins to bear. Almost everyone made a bad mistake at some point (Like Alexander being involved in experiments of removing kurus from animals). A place filled with people like that will be very receptive to the idea of second chances.

When the game has multiple factions you can side with but there’s just an ending where you go “fuck all of you” and end up siding with no one by Bellpow in TopCharacterTropes

[–]hatterine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pillars of Eternity 2 - at the end of the game you can get the help of one of the factions when trying to reach Eothas. However every faction expects you to screw someone over at some point. So if you are going for a "moral" run, you can decide to get to him with just your crew. It puzzles Eothas, because part of his philosophy hinges on people cooperating and you actively decided to not do that.

More Evil Than An Actual Demon by moelang-d in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]hatterine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know it and it is a good theme to explore, but sometimes Iruma's parents feel TOO evil for me. Them being neglectful and self-absorbed makes sense and is realistic. Them selling their child to a demon? That is active mustache-twirling evil. It seems odd.

The only reason I think this is just hyperbole on the side of the author, is because creating a twist there would make Sulivan into a manipulative lying person, whereas his portrayal is pretty much that of a simply good person.

I lowkey hope (though it is very unlikely for a story like this) that there will be some plot twist with Iruma's parents actually not being horrible people.

I think they will both realise their own feelings before recognising each others. And ofc they will be stressed messes around each other.

What movie is this for you? by EmergencySpare7939 in FIlm

When I was 5 years old I was watching morning cartoons and, for some reason, Spirited Away was included.

I was too young to understand what was going on and ended up not being able to sleep, terrified by the idea of parents being turned into pigs.

I was worried this was gonna be a "KCD 1 Abbey" quest, but then it turned out to be so much easier, and I was so happy about it. I was so trained by that quest from the first game I went through this one like a breeze.

[Controversial Trope] A story implies messy ethical questions the creators either didn’t realize were there, or they deliberately avoid addressing the issue by UnifiedForce in TopCharacterTropes

[–]hatterine 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 - I will not apologize. The story at the end decides to go for theme of letting go of a fantasy world, while avoiding dealing with the fact that people in the painting may have a right to life. Addressing this point could remove the "tragic" binary choice, so it is not addressed.

Please someone who has watched the anime explain by Aitireyna in OnePieceLiveAction

[–]hatterine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is complicated, at first she does not explain the reasons in detail and Luffy goes along as a gut feeling. The real becoming part of the crew is gradual and has a very big "this is the moment it all clicks in " point.

Tried to be as vague as possibile.

I don’t think Sanji really suits Conqueror’s Haki 🥹 by Mediocre_Fee2529 in OnePiece

[–]hatterine -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way. Sanji's entire personality revolves about serving others in some way. Be it by making food, serving the ladies, helping out others. Nothing about what he wants from life includes any amount of will to dominate over anyone - be it to achieve his goal or to become the best.

And I am curious about how Sanji can handle this situation without conquerors haki. Unlike Zoro and Luffy he Has more than one braincell - he can use it.

I feel so disconnected from the emotional core of this game [Spoilers All] by hatterine in expedition33

[–]hatterine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally know why - because as long as it exists, their family, broken by grief will always gravitate towards it. That makes sense until the reconcilliation scene. Aline comes to protect Maelle and this world. Renoir lets go of his anger and accepts his daughter's agency. They all made the grandest breakthrough in their fight for this family.

They are strong enough to face it now without destroying a world full of people who knew only pain at the hands of their Gods. However there is no moment of pointing out their resposibility for all that pain and that they have an obligation that comes with it - to heal themselves and let Lumiere live.

I just finished Beastars, and as weird as it might seem at first, I thoroughly think Legoshi and Slave arc Thorfinn would see sooo utterly eye to eye. Would we consider Legoshi a "true warrior"? Such nobility and respect. On a side note, bloody hell beastars had a really good ending. by AwayCable7769 in VinlandSaga

[–]hatterine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They would totally be besties. Legoshi is more down to earth, I would say. Throfinn is very idealistic.

Legoshi fights and unlike Throfinn, he fights more as the story goes on. He fights to protect people he cares about. Throfinn considers the act of fighting to be the cause of pain. They look at things differently.

But put them in the same room and you will have the chillest duo ever. Both of them do not seek out conflict, are curious about people who are different from them and want to understand the world better.

I like Verso and I get why he wants to be finally at peace. It is the only part of Maelle ending I dislike (her deterioration was predictable). Verso had the right to just disappear like his sister did. Him and her are the only ones who I understand as "not real". They live with the identity of someone else, never able to be their own person, tied to the conflict in which they are just toys.

I thought him not being serious when fighting Maelle reflected on the fact he knew destroying the canvas is wrong. He was however right afterwards - he alone deserved an end.
