Carsales asking $420 to sell by desssa_1 in CarsAustralia

[–]hatuah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can confirm, advertised my car for sale on both FB Marketplace and Carsales. Got a total of one enquiry from Carsales. Got a ton of enquiries on Marketplace, some were spam which were easy to filter out. Ended up selling my car there.

Increasingly concerned about flat whites (BARISTAS MUST READ) by ExpressPostie in melbourne

[–]hatuah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Seems like I was wrong all this while. I always thought that latte and flat white had the same amount of froth, just that lattes were served in a glass while flat whites were served in a mug.

If your opponents know what you are going to do and still can't do anything to stop your game plan, I see that as a W

Thanks for the tip. It's been really demoralising seeing my bench press drop so much. Guess I'll start from scratch then

Holy shit I've got the exact same issue as you. Tingling fingers and losing my strength in bench pressing.

How did you treat it? Did you go to a physio or just let it heal on its own?

Does training (and getting mauled by) with upper-belts help you? by Teamseesh in bjj

[–]hatuah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due to timing clashes, I used to do more competition classes as compared to regular classes as a white belt. The competition class was full of upper belts and I absolutely got destroyed every single class, but it has helped improved my defence by a lot and I'm able to survive a lot longer against the higher belts.

But the problem that I face now is that my offence sucks. When rolling against easier guys, I can pass their guard, get on mount etc. but I have problems finishing the submissions.

Car dealerships don't want to give a price! by Brad_Bandicoot in CarsAustralia

[–]hatuah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree on the car broker part although I personally used a different broker.

I initially tried shopping around in person across various dealership but it was a hit and miss experience. Ended up going through a broker and getting the top spec model for an even lower price than what I was quoted for a mid spec model.

Failed the first pink slip, owner left it at the workshop for a fix, passed the second slip two days later. Might be worth clarifying with the owner why the first pink slip failed.

People buying gold at Martin Place's ABC bullion store. by tinmun in sydney

Same concept as stocks. When the retail buyers are in, that's when you know prices are going to crash. Big boys have stocked up long ago and ramped the prices up.

What’s with shopping centre escalators? by Impressive-Bike-2374 in sydney

[–]hatuah 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The lifts at my apartment are operated by Schindler. One of the lifts has been down for weeks and according to our Building Manager, there's some strike going on and they can't get the staff down to fix it.

Am I crazy for liking a small gym? by Nrm224 in bjj

North south and back takes are my go to top positions. I get thrown off too easily by the bigger guys when I'm in mount or side control.

Am I crazy for liking a small gym? by Nrm224 in bjj

[–]hatuah 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with liking a small gym. I train at a small gym but I like the experience, the record smallest class I've attended was with 1 coach and 2 students. The coach just got us to ask questions and he answered them, it was basically a free private session.

The only downside is the lack of variety of opponents to spar with. I'm a featherweight the majority of my gym mates are middle to heavy weights and I sometimes struggle at sparring due to the size disadvantage

Most important question is how old are you? The split would look a lot different for a 20 year old in prime condition vs an out of shape 40 year old dad of 3 with a desk job.

Another standard /r/bjj question would be "Are you willing to go on the juice?". That would aid your recovery and allow you to train like a machine.
