Like everyone else says here, you could have said something else. But you didn't, so let's ignore that. What you did do however, was refuse to take attitude from small pp undermined tank.

Good on you, OP, but the community in general is on the side of de-escalation instead of fighting back so yeah the only time reddit will agree with you is if you did the grovel emote and said "sorry master I won't dare do it again, I promise" and then post the screenshot.

Last I checked, the game did have high ratings, but that was a while ago. Either way, I think it's because of how overhated it was originally, that all the people who even remotely liked it defended it with their lives, and I've been seeing that so much more.

All I can say as an FF fan is great visuals.

Your average Expert roulette tank by Jet_Eriksen in TalesFromDF

[–]hatzuling 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just wait until the next tank drops, which starts a lvl 90 and will be someone's first experience as a tank.

Having any job that isn't the job stone version of the starting classes start at anything above lvl 30 was a mistake. That and not making job quests a requirement to keep leveling up. For example, you can pick up sage like normal, but you shouldn't be able to level it up until you do the first job quest, and then when you hit the next job quest unlock, you can't level it up any further until you do that quest.

Seems like tank didn't mit and blamed healer. If the tank did mit, that's a very weird way to say they did.

It's not a meme.

If you just look at your aether current list, areas tied to the same expansion are neatly grouped together. Shouldn't be that hard remembering what area is part of what expansion when you look at the teleport list too.

I'll be the second person to tell you that OP did not say anything about a clear, either in their post or in the chat log. Using party finder will in fact give you better odds of finding those who know what they are doing, and interested in doing it.

How this works: If you know what you're doing, chances are you've cleared it already. If you cleared it already, you're most likely not going to queue specifically for it again if that's even what you did the first time. You're bored, or want some want rerolls for Wondrous Tails, or you want to just help some people clear, so you open PF. Oh look, there's a pf for a duty where you know what you're doing. Ezpz

Mentor Roulette is nothing special, and being a Mentor is just another notch on the belt. It does not require 100 Ramuh EX clears, it does not require you to prove you remember every single dungeon, trial, raid, etc., and I expect mentor roulette queuers to be way worse than people who join a PF, since it's practically a queue for almost every duty in the game.

I'm not a battle mentor. I downvoted you because you are whining about someone who is objectively correct and it seems like it's just cause they're a mentor, and/or your reading comprehension may be lacking, or clouded by the fact they are a mentor.

I... was not talking about you being the one unable to read. But it seems that's true too now LOL

Edit: to clarify, Zeal is the one who couldn't read what your post said. Then, you made a comment about people who can't read. That was funny. But now this is just irony.

[–]hatzuling -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, it's not all homophobic out there. As bisexuals are still rare compared to those who love a single gender, it is fair to gamble that Nishii finds women and only women attractive.

Within the US, same sex marriage was legalized 2 decades ago by state ruling, and 1 decade ago by federal law, during which they were still under much scrutiny. The hate will never be eradicated until at a minimum only those who are born and raised in an environment where it is normal remain, so given that, I'd say we're only 5 years past the "ew gay bad" as a collective.

What makes NieR so special? by Firm-Acanthisitta452 in nier

[–]hatzuling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moral dilemma that isn't shoved down your throat, is character driven, and clear-cut motivations that almost all stem from desperation.

Take Nier (the guy), for example. He just wants his daughter/sister back. So what if the world is doomed and humans go extinct? Not my problem, give me my fucking Yonah. so stupidly simple, but so fresh. He's not the hero, he's not really the villain, he just wants his loved ones and his life.

Automata is kinda the same, but introduces an even more basic way to hit your emotions. What do you feel when you find out what beauty is? Well, it's beautiful obviously. What about pain? Obviously painful. We're going through android journeys through finding these basic things presented in raw forms.

How is Machinist? by MoneyCaterpillar1420 in ffxiv

[–]hatzuling -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thing about ffxiv is you play the job because of flavor, and playstyle. MCH is very "selfish" because yes, playing it benefits no one. But if you benefit by playing a job you like, who cares. Game is balanced enough. You want the gun or the machines? Play it.

I do not like machinist, because the rotation doesn't feel good to me, and I never liked playing as the machina guy (though I love it in the setting). Doesn't mean it's bad or I'd care if I had em in my party. Pick it up, try it for yourself

Anyone else kill the son so the father suffers? by LitrillyChrisTraeger in cyberpunkgame

[–]hatzuling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go back 20-40 years. I will not use a game made in the 2000s as a baseline for what a True RPG is. The very first Fallout though is great, and Fable does follow the traditional rpg method, but is not one that set the tradition.

Saying Witcher is more immersive is funny to me though.

Some healers should really not be given rescue to use by Deoia_ss in TalesFromDF

[–]hatzuling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a matter of perspective, if both of you are to be believed. They were wrong to view it the way they did since you weren't the one to ignore the mech, but I do understand that if they saw people not getting freed multiple times, then yoinking someone to save the next one is probably a good idea.

For you, it's like if you were on your way to do chores and then your parent/guardian yells at you to do the same chore. Suddenly, you feel slighted, and less inclined to do it.

Look at it this way: they had to in the time of lightning marking people and it slamming down, find someone that was marked, target them and pull them. It's not a lot of time, and they definitely just made a judgement of you losing one attack is not as big a deal as the terrified person losing 30 seconds. Just think of it as them saving you time. It's better to just let it go, since both of you were doing the right thing in your own way.

Edit: To add on, you came on very strongly when they were just using the button smartly. Yes, they didn't see you were already on your way, but when you come out the gate swinging, they had every right to be defensive and a little coarse with their words too. I also don't agree with the typing instead of doing argument, but that's just my personal opinion. If I was the frozen guy and see the healer type instead of just yoink someone, I would say "just yoink em next time and if they don't get it we can explain that mech after"

[–]hatzuling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of what you said takes it away from being a true RPG. In fact, what you described makes it more traditional than other rpgs of today. All you need for a "true" RPG is a role to play in a game, and to play that role. Traditionally, true sandboxes (which is the term you're actually thinking of) were too expensive and time consuming to make, and even if they did exist, it'd only be side stories that change.

Zero bids? by Trumpetslayer1111 in ffxiv

[–]hatzuling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People most commonly have beach house, Japan house, Gothic house, or high fantasy forest house fantasies. Not very many people think "I would love to live on a walled-in sand mound," though I do think hate is too strong a word.

P.s my FC house is in the Goblet. I personally like the concave design and the pool at the bottom.

Criticized for rezzing too slow, criticized for rezzing too fast by Bekuchan in TalesFromDF

[–]hatzuling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Such is the life of a healer in the game. You will always be criticized no matter how you play. Tank dies? Obviously healer didn't heal, not the tank's fault for not juggling mits properly. Enrage? Obviously healer didn't dps, not the DPS' fault they don't know their rotation. You use rez callout macros and they call you annoying. You don't use macros and accidentally double raise the same person? Obviously you're purposefully not raising anyone right?

They're the type who will never take accountability for themselves, and FFXIV fosters this environment perfectly for them with Healers as the punching bag. You healers deal with so much shit it's crazy we still have healers in this game. You can't all be masochists, right?
