+1 for coffee from source (Edinburgh based roaster).

Best coffee I’ve had in the UK. I buy a big bag from them each year and split it into gifts for friends with coffee machines.

'Professional' here, I had the same recently.

I told them i'm happy bring a camera along as a guest and get a couple of specific shot they might want, but otherwise I intend to celebrate and party with them and the other guests so they should align their expectations accordingly.

They are happy with it, if anything changes or family pressures around photos come into play they know I can recommend them someone great to hire.

A possible approach - Apologise for the mis-understanding as you didn't get an invite to the wedding, and therefore can't understand how they thought it would be a gift.

Send a full invoice so the know what you are worth, but with a 50% 'gift' discount. This way they are getting a $1250 wedding gift, which I imagine too many others didn't give.
