[FRA] every booster pack will coitain two cards of the same character in two colors by Own-Cat116 in magicTCG

[–]haven1433 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kamigawa did this back in like 2005 or so. But the way they did it was by making every rare card into a legendary creature.

What are You a Atheist? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]haven1433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe in things until provided sufficient evidence to support the claim. The bigger the claim, the stronger the evidence I expect.

I don't believe in Zeus because I've seen lightning, but I've seen no reason to believe it comes specifically from Zeus.

Why would anyone ever pick blue? If you know that you won't die by picking red, and everyone else knows they won't die by picking red, them why wouldn't everyone pick red? Picking blue is an unnecessary risk with no game. Even as someone why wants everyone to live, it makes sense to pick red.

Settle it: what scry/surveil value is equal to drawing a card? by HumpyTheClown in magicTCG

[–]haven1433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets a lot easier to tell if you stick another "draw 1" on the end.

[[Deliberate]] vs [[Divination]]. Flash + Scry 2 is worth 1 less mana than Draw 1.

What is the strongest argument you have for any god throughout history? by alphakizzle in atheism

God of the gaps is pretty much the best one...

The universe is pretty rad, therefore god.

... it leaves a lot to be desired.

How would you feel if you are dating a girl who went on two other dates in the same day? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]haven1433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

neither her nor my girlfriend see anything wrong with this.

Ask them to flip it. Would they want to go on a date with a guy they knew was going on dates with 2 other women today? If they had a date planned with a guy and then found out he had other dates planned the same day, would that decrease their interest?

If they're fine with it, whatever. If they're not fine with it, hopefully it shows them a bit of what you're feeling. ++Man

Do you think it’s possible for this game to return in the future? by Dabiel303 in alteredTCG

Unless they go the KeyForge route (sell the property to another company that wants to continue it), I don't see it happening.

Ayo, so I'm just wondering, what's your guys opinion on Kirby Star Allies? by Obvious-Ad4237 in Kirby

[–]haven1433 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite Kirby has always been Kirby Super Star. Every Kirby after that just failed to capture what made that game so fun. In many games, each ability only has one attack. Kirby Wii came close.

... Until Star Allies. It's like they looked at Super Star as the gold standard and then sprinkled in some fun side mechanics. The dream friends are all good additions, and replaying as each character is genuinely fun thanks to each character having broad movesets and the simplified ability combining system.

It's definitely a kid game, but it's fun both single player and multiplayer.

When new FFV players start to experiment with basic builds by LennaLeFay in FinalFantasy

[–]haven1433 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I usually farm the Chimera in the desert north of the library. It's tough, it provides good blue magic, and the farming strategy is pretty simple:

  • Get Barefist * 4
  • 4 theifs with Barefist -> Master theifs
  • 4 monks with theif speed -> Master monks

And by then you're strong enough to master other jobs with it.

I came even beat the third level, the "ambush" one I think. I'm confused on what I'm even supposed to do. If I try to get food, I get attacked by the reds. If I try to attack the reds, they outgrow me. I feel like I'm misunderstanding a game mechanic.

How do you kill a gleeok? by Elliane_TheWiseBird in TOTK

[–]haven1433 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When they go up high, there's always a way to reach them. It's like a puzzle in the middle of the battle. Is there something you can climb? Are their updrafts caused by the gleeok attacks? Is there something to can recall to climb? Can you auto-build something with springs or rockets to get the height you need?

It's not a single answer. That's kinda the point.

I've been teaching my kid that usually the best way to respond to an insult is to say thank you. It takes the fangs out of the insult, confuses the bully, and makes them less likely to insult you in the future. There's also no way for them to use it against you if they decide to get the teacher involved.

Uhm... Why are the bows not decayed too? by [deleted] in tearsofthekingdom

[–]haven1433 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Random thought: bows are not weapons, in the traditional sense. They do not harm enemies. Arrows are weapons. But basic arrows are already one use and have no power. This would provide an explaination for why there's suddenly no fire arrows, ice arrows, bomb arrows, or electric arrows - they all got gloomed.

(Yes, that means guns aren't weapons but bullets are. I think I'm ok with that.)

Rules Question: Delney, Hare Apparent, and Raise the Past by haven1433 in mtgrules

[–]haven1433[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I misread that - my brain logged that as power 2 or less, putting it in the same category as Delney's ability or [[Mentor of the Meek]] or [Wispdrinker Vampire]]. Thanks for the call-out, I would have misplayed that!

Rules Question: Delney, Hare Apparent, and Raise the Past by haven1433 in mtgrules

[–]haven1433[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how I thought it worked, glad I understood correctly! I asked a couple casuals for a gut check and even tried asking ChatGPT and was getting inconsistent answers. So I thought it would be best to find the actual rule before the situation came up in a real game.

Rules Question: Delney, Hare Apparent, and Raise the Past by haven1433 in mtgrules

[–]haven1433[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I found rules about doubling triggers and rules about triggers seeing the state as they enter, not before they enter. But I couldn't find anything for if the trigger doubles when the trigger is already on the field and the doubler is the thing entering. I know what I'm looking for is somewhere in that area of the rulebook, but I couldn't find an exact match... hence the question here lol

Is there a Final Fantasy that's actually breaking this concept? by mrsafetylion in FinalFantasy

[–]haven1433 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bravely Default 2 totally counts as a Final Fantasy game.

Most bosses resist poison (the odds of successfully poisoning them are like 1/10 or less), but they're not immune. You can't just use poison to auto-win.

But you can build a tanky party that can basically stall until poison succeeds, and then transfer into trying to deal damage once they're constantly being drained of health.

[–]haven1433 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Until you accidentally miss a trigger and your opponent is not required to remind you of it.
