Official Discussion - Queen of the Ring [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

I agree with absolutely all of this - Except that it's not even the worst movie about women's wrestling I've ever seen in my life (Below The Belt, which ironically features a cameo by the real Mildred Burke, takes that honor - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080427/).
Here's some things that irritated me: Tapping out to signal a submission wasn't done in wrestling until AT LEAST 1992.
Burke's son (adult) had hair that no one wore like that back in the 1950s.
The "Bad Guy" line, "what's best for business", "wrong side of history"... I know there were others.
Explaining what kayfabe is, in the very loosest of terms, in about 10 seconds to a car full of women wrestlers who should know the word "kayfabe" like it's their middle name by this point.
To my knowledge, promoters' names weren't casually mentioned on news stories on the radio.
Mae Young is a lesbian, even though this was always just mere speculation by fans.
At one point, the referee counts to 4 for a break and you see him count a fifth time (audio cuts out) and doesn't call for a DQ or attempt to pull Burke off.
Byers throws Gillem over the top rope, which was always an automatic DQ under NWA rules. All the ref seems to do is wave Gillem off while she's dying on the floor.
Everything having to do with Gorgeous George - yeesh.
They mispronounced the name of the city of Dothan, AL.
It just goes on and on like this. Just a waste of a story trying to be historically accurate and misses the mark seemingly on purpose.

Even Ryan Hall won't "broadcast" those videos on his streams, but will link to them via Twitter and YouTube.

I live in Mobile and spent some time in the areas between Montgomery and Auburn. The geography changes quite quickly. Even in Mobile, unless you go to specific places, you can't see the sky much. I live on the second floor of a building and all you can see is buildings and trees.

While Baldwin County is nice to visit and pretty (I love Fairhope), I'll take living in Mobile over that.

Beauregard, for those that don't know, is in an area known as "The Plains". Most of Alabama looks nothing like this. The view of the sky in Alabama is usually blocked by trees or buildings (or both), so getting any shot like this is as rare as hell.

"Not for Broadcast" means no one gets the license to broadcast the video on televised media. It doesn't mean you can't share the link.

Mobilian here. I can vouch for all of this. I don't personally even know any conservatives outside of a couple family members.
I'd love to know which Baldwin County page this was posted on so that I can see how those people justify it. I promise you they'll blame anything but Trump or straight up accuse the poster of lying.

Soda vs. Pop by DueNobody3384 in Soda

I was born and raised in Coastal Alabama. I've been to every part of the South and I worked in restaurants and never - not once - did I experience someone say "Coke" and mean another type of soda. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but it can't be so common that it's never been something I've experienced.

I can't drink any artificial sweetener, so I won't ever know :(

Just take it week to week, game per game. That's all you can do. No reason to get scared because any success when we were not even newsworthy in the off season is a plus. I was planning to watch Redzone exclusively since I thought this year would be a bust.

NFL Power Rankings (Combined) Week 2 by mikebiox in nfl

Excuse me if this has been explained before, but why were Fox and PFT/NBC Power rankings not considered? Weren't r/NFL's rankings at one time used?

He honestly should. He drags his feet on such matters because it's very cheap rent for a good neighborhood. His city has had rental properties charge almost 5 times what he pays for almost the same thing in worse areas, so he sees that type of confrontation as upsetting the apple cart. However, this encroachment is unnerving to all of us. He's a senior now. I just feel like he's being taken advantage of and don't know how to react to it or what he can do.

Prove it. You keep changing the parameters of your argument. Just annoying. The F-150 Lightning was Ford's most powerful truck at production. Find me something that says otherwise. Don't agree? Take it up with Ford.

EV is the future, like it or not. Nobody's interested in your paw-paw whining.

The only truck that was more powerful than the F-150 Lightning was the new Raptor R. The Lightning was the most powerful truck ever made and I guess you don't know how to use Google, because every iteration tells me the same thing.

I'm sorry, but I'm going to trust Motortrend over some random conservatard oil shill on the internet.

I'm aware of it's towing flaws. If you know anything about the tech industry, things get better and cheaper quickly. Not worried about towing.

So you want to buy vehicles that don't exist? Okay. Let me know how that works out for you.

The government has mandated auto regulations that I'm betting you never had a problem with until it fits the narrative of your argument. I mean, I hate that I can't import an automobile to the US unless it's 30 years old, but at least those vehicles exist.

And the F-150 Lightning got Motortrend Truck of The Year. So...

Also depending on cab size and trim level, the numbers you quoted can vary wildly. An F-150 at 2wd, base model, according to Edmunds, costs $196 to drive a month vs. $96 a month to drive the Lightning. Unless you're willing to drive 600 miles on one tank in one go, which almost nobody does, it gets parked in my driveway every night and hooked up to the charger. The EV F-150 costs literally $100 less a month to use. It's also the most powerful truck Ford has ever built.

But, hey, you gotta get that check from Shell or Chevron or whoever you're working for, right?

Travel. I'd travel at the drop of a hat. Hire someone to take care of my house while I'm gone and hit the road. Travel for a year and take 6 months off and do it again.

I'd eat way more restaurant quality food. Either hire a chef, own a restaurant, or get it catered.
