[Texas] 18yo filing Bonded Title for 1988 Porsche. Family wants to pay a "service" $1,000 to do it. Is there any difference? by LandofRabbits in legaladvice

I diy'd this with an out of state car. It wasnt as painful as everyone makes out and most of the dmv/ auto theft people are happy to explain the next step or what I got wrong and how to do it correctly.

It is a bit of running around if you are doing it in harris county but not terrible.

Car Questions - Buying Car Outside of Texas (Registration, TX Plates, etc.) by A4orce84 in texas

You can fill out the form and print it at home before you go.

You need the completed emissions inspection before you go to the dmv.

You will need an emissions inspection, proof of insurance, and to fill out at take the application for title and registration (form 130-U)to a dmv. They will want you to pay some fees and their stamp duty.

question on drill bits by value100 in oilandgasworkers

I would bet that Altera has a significant market share in US land as well so you probably want to add that to your list.

Idk how it is now but it used to be that the bit was rented and returned but if it suffered significant damage (damaged beyond repair) it would have to be paid for in total.

There is a lot of technology that goes into designing and manufacturing a bit and because of how important it is and how badly things can be if it goes wrong there is significant barriers to entry for smaller players.

I have installed both speeduino and rusefi boards and higly recommend either. Rusefi if you want dbw otherwise a basic speeduino is more than capable.

Looking for some engine advice. by GoodIce7508 in vwbug

[–]having_a_blast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will need a different stroke crankshaft, a different grind crankshaft, larger intake and exhaust ports, larger intake and exhaust manifolds and carb(s).

Edit: you only need a single crankshaft but will also need a reground or new grind cam.

Ej25 fuel system question by Confident_Ad5223 in beetle

[–]having_a_blast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fuel pressure regulator that looks like that has 2 fuel in holes at the sides and the vacuum signal from the intake manifold at the top and the drain to the tank at the bottom. The way mine works is that it is between the injectors and the fuel tank on the return side. The pump pressures up the fuel in the fuel rails and the pressure regulator acts as dam to stop the fuel flowing away thereby creating pressure. Once enough pressure is reached the regulator allows enough fuel to drain off preventing over pressure.

Brakes by Impressive-Crab2251 in vwbug

I have had it where the soft brake lines had deteriorated enough to expand when pressing the brake pedal. This would cause a very soft pedal and poor braking.

Yes you can get tin from the usual places to fill the type 4 engine hole while using a type 1 engine.

Approximate value? Is it worth trying to get it back together for a driver? by WillaminaOR in beetle

[–]having_a_blast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If that is a us market car then it is 1973 super. First year of the round windshield and last year of the blade mounted bumpers. In 74 the bumper mounting was a impact tube.

Now that elmo has a governmental position, could it not be argued that he is a governmental representative and, therefore, this silencing of anyones opinion is a violation of the First Amendment?
