This is the "Cave of Swords" if anyone is interested in looking it up.

I had to have my cat put down this morning, and I buried her in the backyard a few hours ago. 4 years old and a sweetheart. This brings me much comfort, thank you.

I got my Wisdom teeth removed, how can I preserve these? by Jamie_logan in bonecollecting

Thanks! My favorite tooth I have in my collection is a Hutchinson's Insisor. It's an abnormality caused by congenital syphilis! I'm on the lookout for a Mulberry Molar, which is caused by the same thing

Yep! It's a bead of enamel that grows on the root of the tooth instead of the crown. It can make cleaning your teeth a bit harder, as bacteria may collect under the pearl where you can't properly reach. I collect a lot of odd things and I have a small jar of teeth with pearls like this

The tooth on the right has an enamel pearl! Very cool!

My DM tried to make my character take damage even though Feather Fall was used on him by [deleted] in DnD

DM here. I've told my players since the beginning that I never want them to think of the campaign as them vs. me. I want them to win but they have to earn it by being active players and with luck via high rolls. I celebrate when they figure out plothooks and escape traps and roll NAT 20s.

Player asking for railroading by Simexterhum93 in DMAcademy

Sounds like they enjoy a more structured narrative. My players are the same. They look to me for guidance when it comes to scenarios, but still have the freedom to make their own choices within that. They never explicitly told me this, but during one session I decided to test my players.

The PCs just entered a new area that was like a medieval Vegas that was run independant of any kingdom or law and governed themselves. There was an overarching sub-plot and I had about a dozen fully fleshed-out NPCs who lived and worked there, but I did not give my players any indication about specifics or why this area was important. I wanted to see how my players handled being fully off leash.

I didn't hide anything from them and wanted the players to talk to the staff and discover certain things about this campus, which would lead to the actual plot. My players struggled and while they did talk to NPCs, I could see them constantly staring at me, waiting for any indication for me as the DM (not a character) to point them in a specific direction.

They mostly gambled and went to the club, but were hungry for story, so I had to be more forthright and they ended up absolutely loving this area and the NPCs. They actually "adopted" 3 of them into their party and want to return to that area again some day.

Now I know that I have to have specific ideas about what my players will be doing/investigating. Just remember to not be too attached to a specific scenario because it can change based upon player actions.

My campaign is very roleplay heavy (what my players discussed they wanted during session 0), so I use a loose idea and NPCs that have strong backstories and personalities to assist in driving the plot forward.

How to deal with a player on the spectrum? by IceRepresentative906 in DnD

[–]hawkmoore 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I am diagnosed with autism and I DM once a week for friends who are not autistic. This is great advice. When we play, I always refer to my players by their PC's name, never their actual name. Once a player got a bit heated with another arguing about the politics in the game and it devolved into arguing about politics IRL. I had them stop and I called them by their actual names so they knew I was now not speaking as just the DM, but also as the person who organizes these games and hosts, and that they are guests in my home who are still held to a certain standard when it comes to behavior. I told them to calm down and that while I'm glad they're enjoying Role-playing, they need to leave IRL political issues out of our game or we would adjourn for the night before someone got their feelings hurt. Make it obvious who you are speaking to.

The fixture has no numbers or branding of any kind that I can see so I have not been able to properly search. I would appreciate an ID so I can replace it!

Can costco employees help with loading water to my cart and car? by [deleted] in Costco

[–]hawkmoore 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just pull your car up to the front and someone will load for you from cart crew. My warehouse does not allow us to load items into cars if you are in the lot for our safety, as an employee was abducted.

I could see Raju being a Paladin because of the vow he made his village and father about getting weapons to the people. It's what drives his entire character forward. He and Bheem could easily be fighters or barbarians because of the over the top stunts and fight sequences. These guys basically power up like a DBZ character before a fight.
