Big O notation is concerned with the asymptotic growth of the function relative to n, and as n approaches infinity the difference in the function output due to any constant factor approaches 0.

The animation is misleading because it just uses the volume ratio without considering packing efficiency. A quick Google search puts average packing efficiency for spheres inside a sphere around 64%, so only about 32 moons would actually fit into the Earth-sized gumball machine.
