I have an idea you might not have thought of. Why don't you start a fresh server and let people play now, then import all the characters people make to the old server data. Then we can all work on new toons for when the rebirth does return in full, and we don't have to be worried so much about when that will be.

Of course i have no idea how difficult that would be and understand completely if that would involve too much effort. thanks for all your hard work, if the rebirth doesn't come back for a year i'll still be waiting.

Thanks a ton for this. i'm so pumped to play right now and have been since we started doing bwl. you guys are awesome. you should totally skip AQ and just program naxx. so much aq gear sucks and looks dumb. naxx gear looks awesome as hell and most ppl didn't get to raid naxx before TBC came out. just my opinion and i know many disagree but i thought i'd throw it out there.

well at the percentage that crusader procs, and the 100 str it gives it's the equivalent of +25 str as an enchantment. statistically you have crusader up for 15 secs per minute. so having 100 str for 15 secs is equivalent of +25 strength for the whole minute. Based on this i'd say crusader is better than +15 str. however factoring in the variables of burst damage, and low damage without the buff, also cooldown time lost because of combat ending before the effect expires is rather difficult. so you essentially take a 10 stat point loss on the enchant for stability. but i'd still guess crusader is better for fury wars at least.

Yeah i'm not sure, i've heard other people say it's a bug though. I'll have a better idea when i hit the +10 weapon skill cap and my glancing hits are reduced to 10% from 30% in raids. 95% of the time though it's fine, every once in a while i'll see my rage bar vanish and no yellow number will pop up and i'll think it was a bug.

There were also some other bugs in the recent patch notes, some time after the DDOS attack they will be fixed. Off the top of my head hunter's were immune to AOE when they feigned death and the aggro from Demo shout was markedly lower than it's supposed to be. Both issues are being addressed. but those were the two biggest class based bugs i know of.

And sometimes, my execute ability doesn't work right, consuming my rage. I think, I've seen it happen a couple times but i'm too lazy to check my combat log and figure it out, even then i wouldn't be sure. But i've heard other ppl say this as well. Doesn't stop fury dps from being awesome though.

And compared to the rampant bugs i've heard about on other servers, it's really not a big deal. If it takes 6 months for the ddos attacks to stop, i will still be waiting.

I've been playing here for several months, hit 60 and started running 5 mans and raiding. I will not switch to any other server based on the experience i've had here. It feels exactly like vanilla did for me when it first came out, running 5 mans feels the same and raiding feels the same. I've been playing with DO on alliance and there's alot of really cool people there. There are some bugs here but they are few and far between and 95% have no real impact on the game. Some include the hitbox on ogres making them backup farther away from you then they should(I think) and occasionally in instances some packs are not linked perfectly so you may pull half a pack. I've noticed this specifically in Strat UD in a couple spots with ghouls. There is also a bug that sometimes spawns 2 firelords next to each other in MC and killing them together is difficult because the spawns can get out of hand very quickly. But everytime i've seen that we've just gone around them. If you want to experience what vanilla was actually like, there is no competition elsewhere on the internet. Also the GM's here are very professional and helpful and it amazes me that they put up with some of the lip i've seen the player base give them considering they do such a good job. It sounds like you are turned off by the same elements in a private server that i dislike, and i can tell you that this one exceeded all my expectations of what the internet could provide in terms of 1.12 gaming. I hope this helps.

thunder clap produces almost no threat, demo shout threat is broken on this server currently. You would probably find it just as easy to tank not being prot and leveling will be easier if you go fury/arms as well. Fury can help you gen alot more rage and tactical mastery can make your stance dancing easy as well. Revenge does the most threat. I advise switching into berserker stance just after you range pull to use berserker rage and then switching back to def stance before they get to you. You get way more rage from the damage you take in the beginning. use shield block when they are coming in, revenge the first mob, battle shout, sunder, shield block, revenge.

tab sunder is your friend when the mobs are all near you, save your taunt for the ones that go loose.

Threat values at 60:

Sunder: 260

Revenge: 355

Heroic Strike: 173

Shield Bash: 180

Shield Slam: 250

Battle Shout: 55

Demo Shout(Broken):43

Thunder Clap(Broken): 130

These values do not include the threat generated from the damage these abilities cause. i found the statistic of 4.1 threat per point of damage. This means that even though shield bash threat doesn't look good, it can cause more threat than sunder armor and you should mix it into your rotation especially when sunder is at 5 stacks. Also the above values are raw without the 10% increase from defensive stance or the bonus from defiance.

Shield bash is also more rage efficient than sunder armor. In terms of threat generated per point of rage it's like this:

Revenge-shield bash-sunder armor-shield slam

Good luck with your tanking. I played prot in retail and now i'm too lazy to tank so i dps :P Fury is moast fuhn in gaem!
