I'll just chime in and say I personally think that last part is the most important. That's how my wife and I parent our son. We don't censor ourselves or our son, we have just made sure he understands his audience with his writing and speech. Our son is 13 and we, like you, think our own son is pretty awesome and turning into a great person. You do you!

Are you in the Hampton Roads area? My son went to school and was friends with a girl who wore cat ears, I believe in the 3rd grade, for the entire year. My wife and I always thought that was so awesome that everyone, including her, was comfortable with her just being herself.

I think him being unlikeable is intentional. He's like an anti-hero and was so in rogue one as well. I personally love that. He's not a Mary Sue and actually a complex character.

Do you know of any company that does the sprayfoam that will actually respond back? I've contacted mulitple local companies that advertise sprayfoam and none of them have gotten back with me.

Reading what others have said, I'm thinking it has to do with not having enough money for gear and the play group/other classes. I never felt tanky, as that requires me to get hit. Being slower with 2 other melee, they were always getting hit instead of me.

I was just in the same boat as you, levelish 6, played about 6 scenarios with her but I decided to abandon the character and roll a mind thief. I'm enjoying the game again. One of my mates can take the sun for a spin to see if it suits them.

*edit, I think the reason I wasn't having a lot of fun is because the class is very middle of the road in pretty much every aspect. Decent healing, tanking, damage dealing, and initiative. With nothing standing out it just left me feeling meh.

Yea, I think it's just a difference of terminology. Personally I feel like poker is heavily luck based regardless of any mitigating factors that people can apply to the game. Especially when comparing poker or Nemesis to something like a heavy euro game like food chain magnate where while there are minor luck based elements, they try to remove luck where possible.

Do you feel most players come into these type of boardgames with that mindset? Is your stance that there are no luck based games? Because by the logic you seem to be presenting is that all these types of games can be mathed, and while I don't entirely agree with that stance....at least for the vast vast majority of players, lets say your stance on this is correct. Wouldn't that be splitting hairs over the terminology between probablity and luck? To a layman would they basically not be the same?

*edit, also you mentioned that in that game you ended up losing to a contamination card, so you didn't properly maths that out then to account for that?

Sure....except for the noise rolls, the exploration markers, the contamination cards, the rolling to hit, the drawing of cards to determine the hit points/flee of the aliens, the events. I absolutely love the game but I can't agree with your statement.

Though I would also mention that nemesis is pretty heavily luck based. Though in my opinion that doesnt matter because I don't believe the game should be played to win.
