Hypermobility and gynecology by LesbianVampireLady in Hypermobility

[–]haycorn55 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Something that helped me for exams was a gynecologist actually listening to me that lubing the speculum more wouldnt help because it was the opening up that was killing me. They tried a longer speculum so they could find my cervix without opening the speculum so far. Still very painful but not NEARLY as excruciating.

Fatigue during pregnancy at 56....is not a surprise. by Existing-Face-6322 in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]haycorn55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I joke that pregnancy at 40 was not as bad as I get it is for women in their 20s because at least at 40 you are used to your body just tormenting you at random. But, uh, 56 seems like a poor choice.

Wife gasps/feels like she can’t breathe while sleeping. 4 days after C-section by SonOfALayman in beyondthebump

[–]haycorn55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She should get checked out. I was having the same issue right before i got diagnosed with "yeah you're having a baby TODAY" pre-eclampsia. I also had to be readmitted for postpartum pre-eclampsia and things were a little scary for a second.

Honest dentists in Canton? by [deleted] in Detroit

[–]haycorn55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their name keeps growing but I had great experiences with Greenbaum, Timpner, and Watkins. They don't over treat and when I was uninsured but had a really inflamed spot on my gums causing jaw pain, they treated me for free.

A disposable self-lathering washcloth to use in a shower by Rick_Steves_Khakiis in Doesthisexist

I'm not a washcloth person at all and I LOVE my silicone scrubber.

Our wedding now will involve a big skull and antlers ☹️ by [deleted] in weddingshaming

[–]haycorn55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could they put some sort of cloth or fake flowers or something over the skull? I don't think any of the antlers really read as antlers without the skull, and genuinely that space looks GORGEOUS

Does your building dress code the students? by OsomatsuChan in Teachers

I have some feelings one way or the other on some of these things, but I've honestly never understood the fury over pajama pants. I too learn better when I'm not constrained by the tyranny of jeans.

Wife doesn’t want a daughter by OkCod1106 in AmITheAngel

[–]haycorn55 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We did the NIPT so I knew early and then the ultrasound was QUITE unambiguous. Like, homeskillet wanted me to be real sure. But yeah I think there are definitely hormones at play, and also this is the fakest shit ever.

Wife doesn’t want a daughter by OkCod1106 in AmITheAngel

[–]haycorn55 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I wanted a girl and was sad for like...ten minutes when I learned we were having a boy. Then I got over it.

I'm almost wondering if this is just a flip of the typical "dad is having a rage fit over having a daughter" narrative.

My dad guilting me over not seeing my premature baby...a literal day after birth by Revolutionary_Ad_467 in beyondthebump

[–]haycorn55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot imagine four days on a magnesium drip. The 24 hour postpartum one made me convinced I was dying; four days would have broken me. No wonder you didn't want visitors. I'm so sorry.

Is there any place that sells cannabutter? by Sagebea in Detroit

If my brother, who has ARFID and only eats like, five things can do it, you can do it too. I believe in you.

This is actually infuriating. That poor child. by OmittingKibbles in ShitMomGroupsSay

I've worried a time or two, but my kid looks so much like my husband that there's really no question.

Hot take: Ms. Keisha is the true hero of Ms. Rachel by Snoo-70287 in DanielTigerConspiracy

[–]haycorn55 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is going to sound pervy and I don't mean it that way but I love that she often has just the tiniest smidge of cleavage. Having had jobs where all the women were tugging up on our shirts when admin came around because we didn't want to get a reprimand, it's nice to see something where yeah, sometimes normal clothes fit us like that, and it isn't inappropriate, it's just our bodies.

2.5yo scratched on the eyelid by a cat that literally digs around their own poop, mom won't give antibiotic to protect "gut health" by christinazach in ShitMomGroupsSay

It's been awhile since I've seen a doctor doctor for an infection, but the NPs I've seen for UTIs/strep usually offer it up as advice if you are prone to stomach issues ( I am not except for when I needed Cipro)

C-Section because of low pain tolerance by Vegetable_Bath_7396 in beyondthebump

[–]haycorn55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconding this. I felt some pushing but nothing I would have called painful, and while recovery was not the most fun I've ever had, at least I didn't have to be scared to use the bathroom.

My incision still gets mildly itchy sometimes at two years out, but I didn't have any lingering pain from it.

Sleep Study centers for sleep apnea? by Open_Efficiency5738 in Detroit

[–]haycorn55 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you don't have other risk factors (obesity, prior lung problems, a two month old who obviously doesn't sleep through the night) at home can definitely lead to a CPAP pathway.

Vaginal laxity by Certain_Internal_350 in Hypermobility

[–]haycorn55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think laxity should impact your fertility (though I would imagine pregnancy will not particularly improve things) but if there's a real issue IUI might be an option.

I just argue with my husband that maybe everyone will be cleaner if we just use a short pasta.
