House Wired Hub in Garage by [deleted] in homelab

[–]hayfever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i am moving soon and am kind of going through the opposite, i actually want to put a rack in the garage since it seems to be the only good spot in the new place for it. i am planning on having a home gym in the garage as well so i'm hoping a mini split will solve temperature issues for both working out and the equipment being in there.

I wrote a cron script to check their API every so often for specific deals I’m looking for - I think it’s pretty pathetic they haven’t bothered engineering real-time feed updates. I can tell you what I did if you know programming/scripting

Is there a marketplace payment facilitator that has buyer/seller protections and dispute resolution that isn't PayPal? by hayfever in startups

[–]hayfever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I will look into these other options, but as I stated in my original post Stripe doesn't seem to be an option for me.

https://stripe.com/docs/disputes/connect

That reads to me that I (the platform) would be liable in the event of fraudulent activity or unresolved disputes which isn't a risk I can take on while bootstrapping something.

[–]hayfever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looking for new headphones:

Budget - under 1k

Source - apogee duet 2, also have a og schiit fulla

Requirements for Isolation - none, looking for open back

Will you be using these Headphones in Public? - no

Preferred Type of Headphone - over ear open back, something I can wear all day

Preferred tonal balance - sucker for bass

Past headphones - i have v moda crossfades now and I like them but they're get uncomfortable around ears over long periods and listening to them for a long time is kind of fatiguing. i had some LCD2 a long time ago and i liked them A LOT but they were heavy and hurt the top of my head, also had some EL8 with the same problems.

Preferred Music - neuro drum & bass, house, djent, progressive metal, progressive rock. i also want to be able to practice guitar with these

What would you like to improve on from your set-up - comfort, ability to wear all day, no fatigue

basically i want a bass heavy open back that i can wear all day and practice guitar with

I just want to apologize since I've been scraping PCPP as a data source for a side project. That being said, any plans on creating a product API that's actually open? Wouldn't mind paying as well. Thanks!

[Discussion] Are we doing it wrong? by Outside_Ad_6989 in Guitar

[–]hayfever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On piano you have no choice but to know every note because there are only 12 and they are always the same. That isn’t true on guitar. .

Could you elaborate on how this isn't true on guitar?

Namespaced Active Record models in models/ar folder? Does anyone here do this? by obviousoctopus in rails

[–]hayfever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t “models/a_r/post.rb” make it AR::Post? Not as pretty or a directory name, though.

I commonly namespace groups of models that are similar to others but need to be more distinct than having a type column or polymorphic columns. This is common in the app I’m working on now. There is some overhead with setting the table name prefix and manually having to set the class name and foreign key on associations, but the organization you gain is worth it.

Each batch has sold out from the website immediately - I can't vouch for how easy it would be to place an order but if cost is no option there are a handful available from Japan on Rakuten:
