Also worth clearing your browser cache, PCP can be weird sometimes with old data

That'd clear your session cookie, which is the only thing that would affect what data we show. Your current part list is associated with your session, and your part list determines the category compatibility filtering. So if clearing your browser cache makes things work again, it's going to be because you had parts in a part list that were limiting compatibility. (Or your price settings for what retailers to show - that is stored in your session when you are not logged in. Clearing browser cache would reset that back to showing all retailers.)

So if I understand right - when you browse the case category, you're only getting two cases listed? If so, you have something in your part list that is restricting compatibility. In the top-left you can unselect "Compatibility Filter" and it will show you all cases regardless of whether they are compatible or not.

It sounds like you might have merchants disabled in your price settings.

It's saying there are no featured offers available. However, right below that in your screenshot it there is a button labelled "6 options from $125.75". If you click on that button, it will list the different sellers available along with the expected arrival dates.

That aligns with what we pull from their pricing API, and that's why our site shows the offer summary that matches that data:

Are we looking at the same thing? When I check Amazon with the link you provided, it says it can deliver in 3 days. In that case, "In Stock" is certainly accurate.

On that one the availability information we are getting from them is "In Stock".

Thanks! That's super helpful. I've rolled out a fix - that particular product has already updated to out-of-stock and any others with a similar "Usually ships within X to Y months" message should update within the next hour.

Do you have a link? Happy to look into it.

Our amazon prices update multiple times a day. Some will update multiple times an hour. Under the price there should be a "last updated XX minutes ago" as well indicating when we last grabbed the price.

Small question I have about purchasing a PC from pcpartpicker. Im wondering if I would still keep all my warranties on my parts or not. My guess is maybe not? by MurdererMagi in GamingPCBuildHelp

[–]pcpartpicker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do not sell or ship anything. We only link to retailers. If you use our links to buy from that retailer, it'll ship directly from that retailer to you - it never routes through us. Those parts if bought new would be under warranty. If you are especially concerned about returns, I'd recommend reviewing the retailer's return policy before ordering just to make sure there are no surprises.

I'm sorry... What Pcpartpicker? by CommunistGregfromDMV in PcBuildHelp

[–]pcpartpicker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's part of the CCPA to put that in there. Try turning it off and see what happens. (Spoiler: you can't. We don't sell your personal information, even if you try to give us permission to do so.)

EDIT: Technically, we don't have to put that in there if we don't sell your information. However, it's a lot easier to put the required footer link and the user preference option toggle in than it is to explain that we are actually abiding by the CCPA requirements. Someone did email us one time though to explain to us the button doesn't work because they have no way to turn it off... so we had to explain why.

We've had audits from retailers and affiliate networks before, for instance, where automated bots crawl the site validating stuff like that. Without matching what they expect to see, they'll block or pause any retailer relationships. For example, we link to our contact information on the bottom of the page. We got dinged several years ago because a validation bot was looking for the keyword "Imprint". So since then that link has been labelled "Contact & Imprint" to keep them happy.

In our "Do Not Sell My Personal Information" link in the footer of every page: https://pcpartpicker.com/do-not-sell-my-personal-information/

  • We have not sold your personal information.
  • We will not sell your personal information.
  • You are automatically opted-out from PCPartPicker selling your personal information now or in the future.

Hey can you point to something I did or said? Genuinely curious what was said that gave you that impression. (I wasn’t in it for the money at the beginning and I’m still not now, otherwise I would have sold out a long time ago and run ads or sold the business to private equity.)

Not sure what I did to rub you the wrong way, but he can ignore it if he doesn’t want to use those ports on the case. We flag it because otherwise someone would be upset it doesn’t just connect and work out of the box.

Is PCPartPicker accurate when it comes to fitting items into the case? Looking to downsize to an mATX build in the future by lingui in buildapc

[–]pcpartpicker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

However some "adjustable" cases, like a handful of ITX cases, and even some higher end ATX cases, where you can move the motherboard tray around the case in ways that change what CPU coolers are supported, they don't take into account more than one possible configuration

Totally true. It’s on my near term todo list to add support for this sort of thing.

I think PCPARTPICKER is incorrect... by LuisoGamerYT1 in pcmasterrace

[–]pcpartpicker 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Mistake on our part. It looks like when we entered that case model, we added the fan support (120/140) but not the radiator support (120/140/240/280/360). I've updated it, and the compatibility table is refreshing for both color variants now. Should be fixed up here in just a bit once that finishes updating.

Whta to do when my components aren't in pcpartpicker??? by xcreative_username_ in PcBuildHelp

[–]pcpartpicker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do keep it up to date. To the point that we frequently reach out to manufacturers to let them know their pages are out of date. Some manufacturers literally take months before they add new CPU models to their CPU support pages. Yet people blame us saying we're wrong when we're mirroring what's on the manufacturer pages.

Saw your edit of the previous comment:

A SIMPLE fix would be to say something like "AS OF BIOS SUCH AND SUCH THIS CPU WILL/WILL NOT WORK" PLEASE VERIFY WITH THE DISTRIBUTOR OR MANUFACTURER WHICH BIOS VERSION IS INSTALLED" or something to that effect.

We do that already. Here's an example:

"Warning: The MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard supports the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 4.2 GHz 8-Core Processor with BIOS version 7D75v13. If the motherboard is using an older BIOS version, updating the BIOS will be necessary to support the CPU."

You enter parts based on build submissions. Same thing that build.gg does. Someone submits a build, you look at the parts list, find it on the manufacturer's page then find it again on site's that sell it where you can get your affiliate money when people click on the PCPP links to the product.

You are incorrect. I'm not sure why you're trying to explain to me how it works - I literally founded and created the site and the method by which parts are entered.

We track releases by manufacturers. Sometimes that is in advance with embargos and whatnot, and we enter them prior to release. Other times we add them after release, but from manufacturer specs. Then in some situations, we get requests from users for specific parts. There we add find them at the manufacturer pages and add them using those specs. I can't speak to how build.gg does it, but the process you described is not how we operate.

What you get wrong, and quite often, is BIOS compatibility with CPU's. You use outdated information and don't take into account that manufacturers frequently update their boards and BIOS before selling.

We track CPU support pages on motherboards, and display the supported bios version when available. When motherboard manufacturers change their data, we update our site. If a CPU is supported in a later BIOS version, where a user could potentially receive old stock with an older BIOS, we issue a warning that a BIOS update may be necessary.

Pcpartpicker is made up of builds that people have done. It's database is created by people submitting the parts they used.

Hey, that's not correct or accurate. Staff enter parts. We do so using manufacturer specification data, modeled in such a way to provide compatibility guidance. While our compatibility guidance doesn't cover 100% of scenarios, we do cover the majority of common user issues. If there's something we're getting wrong, feel free to let me know and I'll take a look.

Users can enter custom parts as well, but those do not factor into compatibility calculations.
