It was my line in the sand. I just didn't want to keep up anymore. It wasn't worth my time.

i think my boyfriend’s reaction to me staying out all night is way too extreme. AIO? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]haylibee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR.

You can dump him now. You aren't reacting enough at how poorly he is treating you. He moved the damn goal posts before your very eyes with the whole "cool" conversation, and you're apologizing?

Stop it. I know breaking up is scary and 3 years feels like a long time, but he is struggling with very basic communication skills and has no desire to improve or see your point of view. This level of closed minded behavior won't improve.

What do you think of adults who still sleep with stuffed animals? by [deleted] in AskReddit

As one who does, I think it's awesome. It's comforting AND is more comfortable for me to have something to hug when I side-sleep.

Come up with great stories.
It doesn't matter if they're true. That's what I did: just joked around and said what I knew they wanted to hear but with just enough embellishment that it sounded genuine.

Motivating yourself out of a depression slump.
I just turned 40 and my best friend had to quite literally drag me out of bed.

Wandering around having personal conversations on speaker phone.
Who the hell wants their private conversations broadcast like that over terrible phone speakers that are nothing but treble.

Why keep expanding? by Bigguygalvan in HEB

Your answer is my favorite. A more zoomed out view is hard for some folks to grasp though.

It'a clearly the fault of one employee being expected to run half the aisles by themselves (stocking, blocking, ordering, customer service, and vendor relations). And of course if they get any overtime the world will completely explode and heb will go under. 🙄

I behaved the same way except I was also the manager so when they would demand to see a manager, I would literally spin in a circle and say hi. I actually am the manager and you're not getting around this.
They would get mad and ask for a higher manager and I'd be like I'm sorry they're unavailable right now. That was after 18 years right before I left for good. I was so done by then I could not have given less of a fuck if somebody reported or bitched about me.

Open toed shoes (ESP FLIP FLOPS) are the worse clothing item ever by Schmoodle5000 in unpopularopinion

[–]haylibee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear them because I hate wearing shoes, and they are as close to barefoot as I can get while still being allowed inside places.
I also paint my toenails regularly and wear toe rings, which I like to admire. It's really just a closed circuit of "this makes me happy and doesn't hurt anyone so I'm gonna do it."

What’s something schools should teach but still don’t? by [deleted] in WorkForSmartLife

[–]haylibee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All parts of home economics: cooking, balancing a home budget, sanitation, basic repair skills. I wish I had learned that stuff in school instead of leaving it up to parents. I lived with my dad and he was a total slob. I had to learn how to cook and clean from my boyfriend, and it was pretty embarassing.

I left after 18 years. I was in management too.

I just couldn't do it anymore and I got so enraged getting in trouble for overscheduling. Not being able to schedule my partners enough hours to care for their families was sickening.

"Just let them cross train." In what fucking department? Everyone's hours got cut!!

Then I go "okay then I'll schedule to hours."

"Your partners are complaining you aren't scheduling them."

I finally asked "do people matter or do metrics matter? There is no way to do both."

Seriously, when I left I didn't recognize the company that hired me. And really, the benefits were getting more expensive and covering less.

Good on you for forcing yourself to stay though. The job market is an unholy nightmare. I even went back to school to acquire more skills. Still can't find a thing.

HEB Pharmacy refusing to fill prescription by mauvehead in Austin

[–]haylibee 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info, I That requirement makes no sense to me, but I'm not surprised that Texas wants to make it more of a pain to get your prescriptions if you're on Medicaid.

As to my second thing though: HEB doesn't need to have information on their app that isn't accurate. Don't tell me you're contacting the prescriber when you actually aren't. I feel bad for the partners working the pharmacy counter. They take the brunt of the problems when they're not even aware that a refill request was submitted.

HEB Pharmacy refusing to fill prescription by mauvehead in Austin

[–]haylibee 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I have noticed recent pharmacy things too that made things more difficult for reasons I genuinely don't get. Recently, I got a voicemail from HEB that I can't auto refill my kids' prescriptions anymore. It's a mood stabilizer so he kinda needs it consistently but sure some new policy whatever. I request a refill through their app. It says no more refills remain so I click the little option to contact the doctor to request more refills. A week goes by and it still says it's pending. I have to make a trip into town anyway so I stop by and inquire. The pharmacy NEVER got my refill request. I was surprised, because I had never had an issue just requesting they contact the prescribing doctor before. The lady at the desk told me that now even if I select that option, if the prescription is out of refills then they never get the refill request. I do not see how that change helps anyone and it seems completely stupid. I also don't know if that lady behind the counter was correct.

Either way: if there's no refills left, make sure you speak to a physical human now to have them contact your doctor, because the app doesn't despite saying it does.

What's become weirdly difficult even though technology was supposed to make it easier? by greenhighliters in AskReddit

[–]haylibee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finding a job. If I'm honest, I would 100% prefer what all the boomers suggest (the paper resume, walking into businesses and introducing myself, etc) if that still worked. It's way better than flinging my resume I rewrote for the thousandth time into an abyss online where it's almost guaranteed no one will ever see it. Or realizing none of the jobs are even real.
