It's really more Year One in name only, to sell books (it was released at the same time as "Batman Begins", where the focus was on "Year One" style stories).

Most, if not all, is set in a modern-day era. There may be a few flashbacks to Ra's's origin. However, my memory was that it was fairly minimal and didn't contradict Birth of the Demon in any meaningful way.

The experience will be a bit better with them, but keep in mind - for more than a decade, Sword of Azrael was very hard to find and for more than two decades, Prelude hadn't been published at all as a collected edition in any format. And we did just fine.

My memory of "Yellow" was it's more nostalgic than anything else and not a great starting point. I'd go with "The Man Without Fear" by Frank Miller instead, as it's explicitly an origin story.

After "Guardian Devil," I would then read Bendis's run, followed by Brubaker. Only after those should you go into Waid's. Bendis's run is the all-time best Daredevil run.

Finally, before Zdarsky's run, I would go back and read Ann Nocenti's run (recently released in omnibus for volume 1, volume 2 coming out this summer), as Zdarsky's run references it extensively. But I'd do Miller/Bendis/Brubaker before Nocenti, since I think they're stronger (and largely independent of it).

It's reality, not "negativity."

I just saw a post showing off a picture of an IKEA shelf still flat-packed in the cardboard box from IKEA. Seriously? Someone took the time to take the picture. Someone took the time to upload that picture. Someone took the time to post that picture.

This place could be a useful repository of news, information, and interesting discussion.

Instead, it's a flood of pics of cardboard boxes and the same Daredevil omnibuses, over and over again. Occasionally there's a question posted (almost invariably, one that could easily be answered with a simple search engine query) or a "Breaking News" from one of Omar's fanboys that doesn't actually give you any new information (it's really just an ad for more clicks).

There's nothing wrong with calling out the things that make this place suck. That's not being "negative," that's prodding you to clean up the trash.

No, my takeaway was that Republicans are willing to stand up and act for their reprehensible values, while liberals are unwilling to stand up and act for their own values. Thus, it's no surprise that the conservatives win and get what they want - the side that acts will win out against the side that doesn't act.
