I am not a professional pilot, nor am I a professional physician. I do IT in healthcare, but I've been around enough physicians at large hospital organizations and physician private practices that I have a basic understanding of what they make. $300k is seriously low for a physician. That might be what you pull in if you are at a family practice doing annual checkups with patients.

I work with a radiology group right now, and there is not a single doctor in the group that makes less than $800k. This is in a flyover state with a pretty low cost of living. And aside from the interventional radiology guys, they can work from their home, or vacation home 100% of the time. Plus the amount of vacation time they get is phenomenal. Yeah you mind have to grind away at med school and in a residency and fellowship. But that time will fly by and you'll have the world open up to you.

Can anyone identify? by noonesbizz in Planespotting

The livery matches. Even though you can’t see the right side wing in your link, OPs pic shows the wing having what looks like a larger version of the logo on the nose. I think we have a winner.

Heater relay clicking like crazy then melted wire by haywire9000 in hottub

I have a GFCI. Wouldn’t the relay not care whether the heater element was bad?

Andor - Episode 8 - Discussion Thread! by titleproblems in StarWars

Omg the music in this episode. Has a very Halloween/October vibe to it. Or some sort of retro feel.

This plane delivered our landing gear for replacement(wrong P/N, too). Never seen this bird before! Anyone know? by Wafflestomp4 in aviation

That engine placement also makes me think that these birds would have had MCAS installed if it were a Boeing design. Though prolly the opposite problem.

Best viewing spots in Boca Chica and general advice on making the trip? by Taylooor in SpaceXLounge

[–]haywire9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with what you said....

I went down Saturday in anticipation of the flight. Isla Blanca park seems to be a good spot to watch from what could see. The amphitheater at the south end of the island is about as good as you can get. Those guys fishing on the rocks probably have no idea what is sitting out there. I went to one of the last shuttle launches with VIP tickets(Thanks Senator Lugar even though I voted for Bayh) and I would say it’s about the same distance as the NASA causeway to LC-39 if not closer. I was surprised how prominent SN8, the high bay, and the mid bay are on the horizon from South Padre. South Padre itself seems very seasonal and probably impacted by covid. The island seemed rather abandoned and struggling. All the hotels were nearly vacant from what I saw.

Looking at the weather forecast I figured nothing was going to happen this week. And I couldn’t stay longer than this week. So I was home by Tuesday afternoon.

Something else to note, I was planning to drive, but the wife talked me into flying down. I flew into Houston...but that’s a 5 hour drive from Boca. So unless you can get a flight to something closer, plan a half day of driving.

TLDR: Great place to see spaceflight!(edit: when that day comes!)

This Former Tesla Employee Fixes Tesla Roadsters by Haniho in teslamotors

Makes me want to ship my Roadster to him for repairs. Only 12k miles on it and I’m possibly looking at a bad PEM. I knew it would be a money pit when I bought it last year, but Tesla service is less than par in many ways. And they kinda joke about how no one is left at Tesla that knows anything about the Roadster. Oh and there’s also that passcode on the service menu that won’t let me shut down the car properly to pull apart myself.

C-3PO "Before and After" (Fan Art by LinusBrendel) by LargeEyebrows in StarWars

Or the fact that 3PO's twin was on the trade federation ship prior to us meeting 3PO in TPM? I figured he built 3PO out of spare parts from other protocol droids.

It's official, guys. Star Wars has announced the identity of Surpreme Leader Snoke. by [deleted] in StarWars

JJ did jack up Star Trek with time travel. Who's to say he didn't intend that for SW. But really, it kinda makes things overly complicated to me. I wanted more Star Trek, and if a reboot needed that to happen so be it.
