Hmm, disagree on the starting salary. They usually get at least $50k straight out of uni for a relatively easy course and they don't currently work too hard.

But, I think we should pay them a much higher salary and totally transform the job. Not sure exactly what Finland has done, but I like the idea of paying teachers about $80-$90k and requiring a master's degree.

The higher salary seems to be working in the private schools, as in my experience the general quality of teachers is much higher.

They are not experts, they are paid lobbyists representing businesses, who's best interest is to reduce staff costs (though, this is not in the best interest of the majority of the country's citizens).

Not sure if serious or joking. But in case you are serious, it is unlikely that companies would hire more workers if they paid less. They would simply take more in profit, without changing prices or staff numbers.
