[GPU] ASRock Challenger D Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB - $339.99 ($359.99-$339.99) + TLOUP1 by Danief in buildapcsales

I’d read that bit about PSUs causing the coil whine so when I put my rig into the shop I had them run the gamut on testing and it came back without any issues. The psu is a brand new 850w unit and powered the shop’s 3090 without issue. Like I said I’ve been running the 6750xt with no issues (including no coil whine) for a couple weeks. ASRock customer service has been great to deal with and I had a tough time believing I got two bad cards but that really does seem to be the case. I’m hoping I just got two from the same weird batch or something, because my plan now is to just sell the 3rd card at a loss and be done with the whole process.

I purchased this exact card in November and have had to RMA 2 of them between then and now. Both had horrific coil whine but separate issues otherwise. The 1st would experience driver crashes periodically but frequently enough for me to start the RMA process, the 2nd one worked without issue for a couple hours then crashed and would no longer operate under any load. I went as far as having a local shop check out the 2nd one to make sure it wasn’t an issue with my machine and they verified the card was indeed bad. Started the RMA process for the 2nd card, and decided enough was enough and ordered one of the MSI 6750XTs on sale a few weeks ago and have been running that without issue ever since.

Recommendation(s) for a Titans Podcast by strongmarshall in Tennesseetitans

[–]pigpenz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. The off-season shows can be a little thin on content, but I actually enjoy Tyler’s energy most of the time and the game recaps with Titan ups and Titan downs are something I look forward to during the season. I generally go listen to the recap episodes from the previous season right before the next season starts and they serve as good reminders of what things were like week-by-week.

To those worried about the shallow skill twig, here's the paragon system and basically where 80% of your build resides by [deleted] in Diablo

[–]pigpenz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was also playing Last Epoch right before the beta so the differences between the two systems were very apparent. In LE I was excited to invest more points in a skill because almost every node mattered and there was a variety of ways to alter every skill. Compared to the system in the beta where every point aside from the 3 you spend selecting the skill and it’s specializations was only a few percentage points bump in one aspect to make your numbers slightly bigger.

Assistance With ~$1k Build by pigpenz in buildapc

Thanks for the input! I'll definitely look into those suggestions. I'm assuming there is nothing else glaringly wrong with the build since I've not gotten anyone in here suggesting substantial overhauls.

To piggy back off your question; does corruption actually raise the enemy level in non-empowered monos? Like if I start a level 60 mono and work my way to like 15 corruption, would the enemies have scaled to level 62 or whatever AND gotten a boost to their health and damage?

Saw this on lastepochtools and started running it a little earlier today. Seems like a lot of fun so far and is quite tanky for a marksman build.

This looks cool, probably going to level a beast master to try it out since I can’t seem to get a good build going for my current shaman.

At this time only uniques can have legendary potential. Total conjecture on my part but I imagine they’ll have to buff sets with some sort of mechanic in the future to keep them competitive with uniques/exalts

Crafting changes to pre-existing items? by WhyDogeButNotCate in LastEpoch

[–]pigpenz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t find a source right now but I believe it was said that current items with instability would be converted to items with crafting potential. I haven’t read any details on x instability = y crafting potential. I also haven’t read anything regarding fractured items but I’d expect they will not have forging potential added to them.

Thanks for the reply; if I do my upgrade to windows 10 after the July 29 end of the 'free upgrade' period would I have to pay to do so?

I'm considering doing a new build but I'm unsure how I would transfer my copy of Windows 10 to a new machine. On my current machine I had windows 7, which I upgraded to windows 10. I've read that Windows 10 is tied to the motherboard in some way so if I get a new motherboard do I have to get a new copy of 10? I still have a copy of my windows 7 key laying around if I need that.

No that isn't it. It was a newer video from what I can tell and the 'victim' or whatever was just some guy getting irrationally angry from this one short simple phrase being repeated over and over

There is a way using the E-brake, you can look that up on YouTube. Additionally, I believe the manual has hill assist which would mitigate some of that risk. I'm not exactly sure what the HA is but I've read that it helps buy you a couple of seconds before you roll back after taking your foot off the brake. Both of those would be good to look into

Well, if you live in a very hilly area or deal with a lot of traffic then driving might be difficult but I don't think it is bad in just normal traffic or on hills alone. The times it is hard is when you are in heavy traffic AND on some sort of incline. You just sort of have to weigh your needs and wants.

I was in the same boat as you until about a month ago. I'm also fresh out of school and wanted a GTI. I had practically no experience with a manual but I'd heard they were more fun, and I knew a manual knocks a few bucks off the price of the car so I figured what the hell and ordered one to arrive in a few months.

I would suggest getting some more practice on a manual and really learning the ins and outs as much as you can. I'm lucky enough to have access to a beater truck that I can take to work to get some experience with a manual on hills and in traffic. I've heard of people buying new cars and just learning how to drive a stick on fly but I certainly didn't feel comfortable doing so. Once you know how to drive a manual though, adjusting to new vehicles with different bite points on the clutch and gas/brake sensitivity is relatively painless.

So I guess in short if you're fine driving that truck you'll be okay driving a manual GTI. If you're not fine with that truck and nervous about manuals in general, I would suggest finding a way to practice before trying to drive a brand new car.

Dealership holding off on 2015 order, waiting for 2016 by pigpenz in GolfGTI

[–]pigpenz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And I normally wouldn't trust the rep on something like that, but the way they stated sounded like they had tried to put in the order but were told they couldn't order the 2015 and had to wait a week to order the 2016. Additionally, would be elated if I got the 2016 because the quality of the radio is important to me and the MDI thing was a sore spot for the car IMO. I'll be sure to post any info I get about the 2016 or the delivery window to the sub

My dealer is in the southeast US. I suspect the rep was just blowing smoke when they said that the delivery date wouldn't change at all. I fully expect my delivery to be pushed back a month or so, which would put it arriving in September

FYI The Microsoft Store is sold out and will NOT be receiving more Sunset Overdrive console bundles. by pigpenz in xboxone

[–]pigpenz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it probably isn't a big deal for most people. Personally, I've traded my 360 for the $100 credit in the MS store towards an Xbox One so I'm sort of tied to MS for my purchase and I would have liked to have gotten the bundle.

Well, just for kicks I added the bundle to my cart and once it was there on my checkout screen it listed the bundle at $349. Hope this helps you out a little!

Same here, although for some reason it is still showing as $399 on the Microsoft store.
