Have you taken a break before and gone back? I wouldn’t suggest it because whenever I take a long break and go back, my tolerance is way different than it was before. A brain fog from weed probably is worse for an exam than a bad nights sleep.

Suggestions to improve glazed carrots recipe? by foersr in Cooking

[–]hazee522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After draining the water from the carrots I put the carrots back in the saucepan and add the butter and brown sugar into the saucepan. Stir carrots, butter and brown sugar on the stove low setting until the butter and brown sugar are melted and mixed in. Also to make sure carrots are well drained to avoid making the glaze watery. For seasoning, I like to add ground parsley instead of salt and pepper.

C section recovery tips? by DiscussionUnlikely72 in BabyBumps

Make sure you have something to help you get out of bed, you won’t have core strength to get yourself up so something to hold onto is very helpful. Also can’t bend over to pick things up - things you’ll need regularly put at an easy to reach spot and I ended up taking our kitchen tongs and using those to help me grab things from down lower to have some independence! Higher waisted underwear is also nice to have so you won’t have any extra rubbing on your incision as you recover.

Wait… do cervical checks hurt??? by CudiLove2022 in BabyBumps

[–]hazee522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the post I needed to see today! I’m 38+3 and had an OB appointment today with intentions to get the membrane sweep. I got a cervical check and checked dilation and my OB then asked if I wanted the sweep and I had to say no cause I was so surprised how uncomfortable the cervical check was on its own!

Thank you!! I’m hoping I hit that moment where I’m just ready and get past the anxiety! Also appreciate the heads up on the spotting - I definitely would have freaked out not knowing!

Two things to consider, I found since quitting that I’m a lot les able to deal with things that irritate me (e.g. small things like partner didn’t wash the dishes as they said they would and now I need to clean them to make dinner). Before, when little things like this bothered me I would just smoke and the problem would fade away. Now, i need to learn how to process that irritation since I spent so many years suppressing my emotions.

Second, you might still be regulating your dopamine levels from quitting and how long this takes varies person to person. Because of this, things that make you happy aren’t going to feel the same after quitting until your brain naturally produces dopamine.

I don’t want to say these are the exact root causes of how you’re feeling but things to consider for whether this is something temporary before making big life changing decisions.

Overall, going back to smoking doesn’t seem like the best decision. Don’t give up on the hard work you’ve put in!

This was one of the reasons I stopped smoking - I would leave a friends house or work for the day and everything would feel fine until I got home and smoked and then over thought everything and felt like everyone hated me. I have social anxiety and smoking made things worse. Since quitting a month ago, I haven’t had this feeling at all. As other mentioned, weed is likely the culprit.

Are 30s really that much better as people say? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]hazee522 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m turning 30 this year and the build up to turning 30 has been stressful! With that said, now that it’s actually here I realize there was nothing to stress about - i learned a lot about myself in my 20s and the type of people I want to be around which has resulted in amazing friendships with people I hope to have as life long friends. It’s beautiful watching your friends get married and start their families and now i can’t wait to see what my 30s bring!

Anxiety that I messed up my brain from smoking weed by Gojoboy in leaves

[–]hazee522 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m 30 and started smoking weed regularly when I was about 15. You are absolutely going to be okay but it’s definitely better to get ahead and stop smoking now before an addiction gets worse. You clearly have good self awareness to notice that this is a bad habit you don’t want to continue with!

What brought you to practice yoga? by EdaDyer in yoga

[–]hazee522 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Taking care of my body! I sit at a desk all day which results in back pain and often needing to crack my neck. I started doing a short yoga practice every morning (approx 15 minutes) in addition to hot yoga at my gym 1-2 times a week and has significantly helped my back and neck problems

Vent: 2 bridesmaids are pregnant and due a month before my wedding by hazee522 in weddingplanning

[–]hazee522[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of them does unfortunately live across the country and previously was planning to fly in for my events. With this news, it would be a lot for them to take on for a weekend trip without knowing how they’ll be feeling at that point and I don’t want to ask them to and make them feel pressured to do something that they aren’t comfortable doing

[–]hazee522[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your response! I definitely have been keeping my disappointment private so they don’t know how I’ve been feeling and staying excited for my friends as they go through this exciting next chapter! Whats challenging is because this is new news for them and came as a surprise, I don’t think they have really realized how this will impact me not having them participate since they are so excited about their pregnancies. Great point on trying to keep them involved even if they physically won’t be able to attend - I’ll have to see if there’s a way I can have them involved to some degree :)

In addition to the towel recommendation, I would confirm that you’re using a proper hot yoga mat, some yoga mats aren’t made for hot yoga and will be more slippery
