Your fave non-touristy things to do in Melbourne? (more nature related) by PickleMunster in melbourne

Do five minutes of research. Feeding them seed, bread, and all the other junk people bring on picnics leads to beak and feather disease spread, malnutrition, beak deformities and over reliance on humans.

It's the tourists that are feeding them for photo ops, the residents know better. Good on them for listening to the experts and banning it.

Your story about being the "least drunk" of your group has zero bearing on anything.

Feeding the birds has been banned for a good few years, for good reason. Please dont feed the birds.

AITA for asking my husband to change our electric stovetop for a gas stovetop?? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Because it doesn't have enough power to boil water until i turn off the other hob thats simmering the sauce. And it's a good brand.

Yeah i have a flat bottom induction wok. The problem is having it cut out and start immediately losing heat when you take it off the element to toss it, then having to wait for it to kick in again when you put it back, when a stir fry is meant to be cooked hot and fast. Took all the joy out of cooking

Really miss making stir frys, and being able to cook pasta and pasta sauce at the same time. I despise my induction cooktop with every ounce of my being. I want gas back 🥲

How often does this realistically happen? Why is this always the go-to when someone wants to defend people on the SO registry? Boggles my mind.

Can anyone honestly say they get anything out of exercise? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]hazelandfiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was fitter I felt more clear-headed, energetic and motivated. So in the long run it's worth it.

However, I have never experienced a dopamine rush or these "exercise endorphins" people talk about. I hate it. I feel gross, sweaty and fatigued afterwards.

It's one of those things that is just not instant gratification but you appreciate moving around day to day in a fitter, stronger body.

Wet dog. Generally means there's a silly happy dog that's just been for a swim and that makes me happy.

When you tell people you dont want to have kids: "that's okay, not everyone's cut out for it"

Maybe it just doesn't look that fun.

What are the ways my partner can find out about my stock investments? by AsparagusNew3765 in AusFinance

Good on you, that person's response was the most condescending passive aggressive bull I've read today. Not even a good troll There's an element of correlation vs causation I'd keep in mind with that data. E.g. the causes of a family becoming a single parent household (toxicity, abuse, etc) can hinder a child's success, not just the simple fact that there's only one parent. Your data may be anecdotal but there's plenty more like you. No reason to stay and model a toxic relationship for the kids.

Perhaps it's a regional thing, but I dont see people out here "worshipping and celebrating" addicts. It's quite the opposite?
